He last played in Saturday\u2019s 4-2 loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a>, logging 17:27 of ice time with one assist. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Acquired by the Sharks off waivers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> in the off-season, Leddy missed 11 straight games earlier in the season while dealing with an upper-body injury and has been in and out of the Sharks lineup since then. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 6-foot left-shot defenceman is in the final season of a four-year, $16 million contract that carries a cap hit of $4 million. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Drafted 16th overall by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/minnesota-wild\/30\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/minnesota-wild\/30\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Wild<\/a> in 2009, Leddy has 75 goals and 419 points in 1,060 career games split between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/chicago-blackhawks\/16\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/chicago-blackhawks\/16\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-york-islanders\/2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-york-islanders\/2\" target=\"_blank\">New York Islanders<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/detroit-red-wings\/17\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a>, Blues, and Sharks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Leddy helped the Blackhawks to their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons in 2013.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The San Jose Sharks have placed veteran defenceman Nick Leddy on waivers Sunday.
