A new report out this week from NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal revealed whether or not Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin will trade forward Conor Garland anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland is at an interest point in his career as he signed a long-term contract extension with the club last summer, but with Patrik Allvin & Jim Rutherford announcing their plans for a rebuild, many have been wondering what that means for his future.<\/p>\n

In late November, after Allvin informed teams around the league that their pending unrestricted free agents are available, a report came out from Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman saying that the Vancouver Canucks would prefer to keep Conor Garland<\/a>, but would consider trading him if receiving an offer they can’t refuse.<\/p>\n

“There’s been some discussion about Conor Garland, but I’ve heard the preference is to keep him. Another incredibly competitive guy who works. It comes down to someone making an offer they can’t say no to.” Friedman said.<\/p>\n

“They have 100 percent called on both players. They want scoring and believe that with some more, this team can definitely stay in the race and make some noise.” A source told Murphy about Boston’s interest in Conor Garland<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While there might be interest, the level of which appears to be unknown at the moment, it doesn’t look like the Vancouver Canucks are anywhere close to trading the Scituate, Massachusetts native.<\/p>\n

During Wednesday’s edition of Donnie & Dhali, NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal reported that he’s being told the Vancouver Canucks aren’t going to trade Conor Garland just yet.<\/p>\n

“All this Conor Garland talk, teams love him, yes they do, but I’m told the Canucks won’t trade Garland yet, there’s nothing imminent there is what I’ve been told.” Dhaliwal said.<\/p>\n

This season has been tough for Conor Garland, as is the case for several of his teammates, with the 29-year-old registering just 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists), 22 penalty minutes and is a minus-14 in 37 games.<\/p>\n

We’ll have to wait and see what the coming weeks have in store for Conor Garland, but at this rate, don’t be surprised if he remains with the Vancouver Canucks beyond the trade deadline.<\/p>\n
