Teuvo Teravainen, Alex Vlasic, and Andre Burakovsky were the goal scorers in the game for Chicago. Vladislav Namestnikov (PP), Gabriel Villardi (2), Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey, and Kyle Connor scored for Winnipeg.

Last time out, the Blackhawks dropped a third consecutive game on home ice, falling 5-2 to the Boston Bruins. Ryan Greene and Wyatt Kaiser scored in the first period to put the Hawks ahead 2-0 after 20 minutes, but the Bruins rattled off five unanswered goals over the final two periods. Chicago has been outscored 12-4 during their three-game losing streak.

The Jets are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Alex Iafallo, Connor, and Nino Niederreiter were the three goal scorers for Winnipeg. The Leafs overcame a 3-1 third-period deficit and rallied for three unanswered goals. Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Bobby McCann scored in the final 14:02 of regulation, and Max Domi recorded the overtime winner.

After dropping the first four games of the New Year, the Jets are 4-0-1 in their last five games coming into Chicago. Still, Winnipeg is one of two teams that currently sit below the Blackhawks in the NHL standings, with just 44 points through 47 games this season. Chicago has 45 points through 48 games.

Monday marks the first-ever visit to the United Center for former Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews as an opposing player. Toews, who led the team to three Stanley Cup championships (2010, 2013, and 2015), is playing in his first season with his hometown Jets. The 37-year-old forward has 18 points (7G, 11A) in 47 games and has produced a point in eight of his last 12 outings. He’ll surely receive a video tribute and get showered with cheers in his first career game against Chicago.

Here’s everything to note before the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. CT in Chicago.

Blackhawks Regular Season Notes (Last Five Games)

Connor Bedard was back, but the Blackhawks were still stretched remarkably thin against the Washington Capitals. An illness/flu bug swept through the locker room, leaving several players unavailable. Chicago couldn’t extend the winning streak and fell 5-1 to the Capitals for their first loss of 2026.

Without Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom, Drew Commesso filled in for the second time in as many nights and had a career performance. Commesso stopped all 36 shots faced for his first NHL shutout, which moved the Blackhawks to 5-1-1 in 2026 after a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators.

Just when it seemed like the Blackhawks were getting back to full health, Connor Bedard was the latest player to fall victim to the illness that’s been going around the team. Bedard was a late scratch and missed the matchup with Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers, which ended with a 4-1 loss for Chicago.

Connor Bedard was back (again), but the Blackhawks’ offense still struggled mightily against the Calgary Flames. The special-teams department also had a rare off-night, giving up a power-play goal and a short-handed tally in a 3-1 loss.

The Blackhawks raced out to a 2-0 lead, only to surrender five unanswered goals for a third consecutive loss. The Boston Bruins spoiled Chicago’s celebration of “The Banner Years”, as several former Stanley Cup champions were in attendance to witness the 5-2 defeat.

Blackhawks Projected Lineup

Forward Lines

Ryan Greene — Connor Bedard – Andre Burakovsky*

Tyler Bertuzzi — Jason Dickinson* — Ilya Mikheyev

Ryan Donato — Oliver Moore — Nick Lardis

Colton Dach — Nick Foligno — Landon Slaggert

Defensive Pairings

Alex Vlasic-Louis Crevier

Wyatt Kaiser-Artyom Levshunov

Matt Grzelcyk-Connor Murphy

Scratched

F — Sam Lafferty*

Injured

F — Frank Nazar (face), F — Teuvo Teravainen (upper body)

***

Andre Burakovsky was not on the ice for the Blackhawks morning skate, and Colton Dach skated in his place on the top line with Connor Bedard and Ryan Greene. He’s been deemed a game-time decision due to an illness and a family matter.

Should Burakovsky not play, Sam Lafferty will draw into the lineup for the first time since Dec. 28.

Frank Nazar and Teuvo Teravainen will both miss Monday’s game due to injury. Nazar could return from his facial injury on Thursday against Carolina. There still hasn’t been a timeline given for Teravainen to return from an upper-body injury.

Jets Projected Lineup

Forward Lines

Kyle Connor — Mark Scheifele — Alex Iafallo

Cole Perfetti — Jonathan Toews — Gabriel Vilardi

Nino Niederreiter — Adam Lowry — Vladislav Namestnikov

Cole Koepke — Morgan Barron — Tanner Pearson

Defensive Pairings

Josh Morrissey-Dylan DeMelo

Dylan Samberg-Elias Salomonsson

Logan Stanley-Luke Schenn

Scratched

F — Gustav Nyquist, D — Isaak Phillips, F — Danny Zhilkin

Injured

D — Haydn Fleury (bruised back), D — Colin Miller (knee), D — Neal Pionk (undisclosed)

Projected Goaltending Matchup

Spencer Knight (13-13-6, 2.61 GAA, .910 Sv%, 2 SO) vs. Connor Hellebuyck (12-12-5, 2.76 GAA, .901 Sv%, 0 SO)

Knight will make his 33rd start of the season for the Blackhawks. The 24-year-old allowed two goals on 22 shots faced to record the loss in his most recent start on Thursday against the Calgary Flames. Knight is 0-2-1 with a 5.34 GAA and .854 Sv% in three career games against Winnipeg.

Hellebuyck is expected to make his 30th start of the season for the Jets. The 32-year-old netminder allowed four goals on 37 shots faced in an overtime loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Hellebuyck is 21-7-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .922 Sv% in 29 career games against Chicago.

2025-26 Schedule/Results vs. Jets

10/30/25 — 6-3 L, Canada Life Centre

01/19/26 — United Center

03/03/26 — Canada Life Centre

03/31/26 — United Center

2025-26 Team Stats & Leaders

Chicago Blackhawks:

Goals — Tyler Bertuzzi (24)

Assists — Connor Bedard (28)

Points — Connor Bedard (47)

GF/GP — 2.73 (26th)

GA/GP — 3.15 (21st)

PP% — 22.1% (12th)

PK% — 84.4% (2nd)

FOW% — 47.2% (26th)

Winnipeg Jets:

Goals — Kyle Connor & Mark Scheifele (23)

Assists — Mark Scheifele (35)

Points — Mark Scheifele (58)

GF/GP — 3.04 (19th)

GA/GP — 3.13 (20th)

PP% — 19.5% (21st)

PK% — 78.6% (19th)

FOW% — 50.8% (11th)

How To Watch, Listen, & Game Info

Winnipeg Jets (19-22-6) @ Chicago Blackhawks (19-22-7, 45 points)

7:30 p.m. CT — United Center

Head Coaches: Scott Arniel (WPG), Jeff Blashill (CHI)

TV/Stream: CHSN (Ball/Pang), TSN3, TVAS

Radio: WGN 720 AM (Wiedeman/Konroyd)

For more Blackhawks news, visit Chicago Hockey Now and like our Facebook Page.

Follow us on X:

@chihockeynow, @JackBushman2

The Chicago Blackhawks (19-22-7) wrap up their four-game homestand with a Central Division matchup against the Winnipeg Jets…

[5115
521,37717,45621,49202,45780,49204,37,96,5263,58,5,3862,52171,16433,4,52172,18
post-417074","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-chicago-blackhawks","tag-blackhawks","tag-blackhawks-game-day","tag-blackhawks-game-day-previews","tag-blackhawks-how-to-watch","tag-blackhawks-lines","tag-blackhawks-starting-goalie","tag-chicago","tag-chicago-blackhawks","tag-chicagoblackhawks","tag-featured","tag-hockey","tag-jonathan-toews","tag-jonathan-toews-blackhawks","tag-jonathan-toews-jets","tag-nhl","tag-toews-return","tag-winnipeg-jets
["GET
