{"id":419064,"date":"2026-01-21T03:26:20","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T03:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/419064\/"},"modified":"2026-01-21T03:26:20","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T03:26:20","slug":"it-has-now-gone-bad-to-worse-for-the-canucks-this-time-delivering-an-unfortunate-update-on-marco-ro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/419064\/","title":{"rendered":"It has now gone bad to worse for the Canucks, this time delivering an unfortunate update on Marco Ro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t  &#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/635509.webp.webp\" style=\"width:100%;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Dec 30, 2025; Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN; Vancouver Canucks forward Marco Rossi (93) during a stop in play against the Philadelphia Flyers in the third period at Rogers Arena.\" title=\"Dec 30, 2025; Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN; Vancouver Canucks forward Marco Rossi (93) during a stop in play against the Philadelphia Flyers in the third period at Rogers Arena.\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: Bob Frid &#8211; Imagn Images.<\/p>\n<p>Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin delivered an unfortunate update on injured forward Marco Rossi when speaking with the media on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a difficult season for the Vancouver Canucks on the injury front and while some players like Filip Chytil and Teddy Blueger are nearing a return to game action, the club is still waiting on the return of a couple others, including Marco Rossi.<\/p>\n<p>Back on January 10th, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canucksdaily.com\/nhl-team\/vancouver-canucks\/vancouver-canucks-adam-foote-shares-more-crushing-injury-news-this-time-on-marco-rossi\" class=\"lien_marqueur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">an update was given on Marco Rossi<\/a> by Head Coach Adam Foote, who suspected that the Austrian centerman would be out of the lineup for another two-to-three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sounds like Marco Rossi is still 2-3 weeks away from returning to the lineup, according to Adam Foote.&#8221; Thomas Drance of The Athletic said on X.<\/p>\n<p>Marco Rossi&#8217;s return to the lineup is delayed, GM Patrik Allvin announces<\/p>\n<p>When speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon following the trade of Kiefer Sherwood to the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin issued some injury updates.<\/p>\n<p>According to Allvin, the club is playing it safe with Marco Rossi and his injury and as a result, he won&#8217;t be back in game action until after the National Hockey League&#8217;s Olympic break.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Patrik Allvin says #Canucks being careful with Rossi, who is back skating, but he&#8217;s likely out until after Olympics.&#8221; Allvin said.<\/p>\n<p>Allvin also gave an update on veteran defenseman Derek Forbort, who hasn&#8217;t played since October 11th against the Edmonton Oilers, telling reporters that he&#8217;s suffered a setback to a previous injury he sustained and that it&#8217;s unlikely he&#8217;ll play again this season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And Allvin says Derek Forbort is likely done for the season. Said slim chance he plays again, but didn&#8217;t sound like it was likely. Called it a setback to a previous injury.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Going back to Marco Rossi, if he&#8217;s not back until after the Olympic break, that would set him up for a return to the lineup as early as Wednesday, February 25th against the Winnipeg Jets, but that&#8217;ll all depend on how his recovery goes and if he doesn&#8217;t suffer any setbacks.<\/p>\n<p>In 25 games this season with the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks, the Feldkirch, Austria native has registered 15 points (five goals, ten assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-11.<\/p>\n<p>Previously on Vancouver Hockey Daily<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; &#13; &#13; Photo credit: Bob Frid &#8211; Imagn Images.
