Marco Rossi’s return to the lineup is delayed, GM Patrik Allvin announces<\/p>\n
When speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon following the trade of Kiefer Sherwood to the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin issued some injury updates.<\/p>\n
According to Allvin, the club is playing it safe with Marco Rossi and his injury and as a result, he won’t be back in game action until after the National Hockey League’s Olympic break.<\/p>\n
“Patrik Allvin says #Canucks being careful with Rossi, who is back skating, but he’s likely out until after Olympics.” Allvin said.<\/p>\n
Allvin also gave an update on veteran defenseman Derek Forbort, who hasn’t played since October 11th against the Edmonton Oilers, telling reporters that he’s suffered a setback to a previous injury he sustained and that it’s unlikely he’ll play again this season.<\/p>\n
“And Allvin says Derek Forbort is likely done for the season. Said slim chance he plays again, but didn’t sound like it was likely. Called it a setback to a previous injury.”<\/p>\n
Going back to Marco Rossi, if he’s not back until after the Olympic break, that would set him up for a return to the lineup as early as Wednesday, February 25th against the Winnipeg Jets, but that’ll all depend on how his recovery goes and if he doesn’t suffer any setbacks.<\/p>\n
In 25 games this season with the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks, the Feldkirch, Austria native has registered 15 points (five goals, ten assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-11.<\/p>\n
