UMD’s Sadura nominated for Hockey Humanitarian Award<\/p>\n
To play for UMD women\u2019s hockey, or really any top-10 ranked program, it obviously takes a lot of time, talent and dedication. While it can be more difficult to give back to those in need, one Bulldog hasn\u2019t let it stop her at all.<\/p>\n
As a result, Grace Sadura has been named one of 12 nominees for the 2026 Hockey Humanitarian Award. The honor is presented annually to a student-athlete who makes significant contributions not only to his or her team but also to the community through leadership in volunteerism. <\/p>\n
On top of serving as co-president of UMD\u2019s DEI council, the junior also sits on the board for the Green Bandana Project, a program for high school and college students that raises mental health awareness. Sadura would be the second ever Bulldog to win the award after Gabbie Hughes received it in 2023.<\/p>\n
Finalists will be revealed in February and the recipient is set to be announced on Friday, April 10 during the NCAA Men\u2019s Frozen Four weekend in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
