DENVER (AP) \u2014 Mikael Granlund<\/a> and Cutter Gauthier<\/a> scored in the shootout and Lukas Dostal<\/a> stopped 40 shots as Anaheim defeated the NHL-leading Colorado Avalanche<\/a> for the Ducks\u2019 fifth straight win Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Viel scored in his second straight game as the Ducks opened a six-game road trip.<\/p>\n

Artturi Lehkonen<\/a> scored for Colorado, and Scott Wedgewood<\/a> made 16 saves.<\/p>\n

Alex Killorn<\/a> played in his 1,000th career NHL game. He spent 11 years with Tampa Bay, winning the Stanley Cup twice, before signing with Anaheim as a free agent in 2023.<\/p>\n

Colorado forward Valeri Nichushkin<\/a> returned after missing Monday night\u2019s win over the Washington Capitals.<\/a> He was involved in a car accident<\/a> on his way to the rink and was held out as a precaution.<\/p>\n

The Avalanche played without Gabriel Landeskog<\/a> (upper body), defenseman Devon Toews<\/a> (upper) and forward Joel Kiviranta<\/a> (lower body). Forward Logan O\u2019Connor has yet to play this season as he recovers from offseason hip surgery.<\/p>\n
