Mandatory Credit: Bob Frid-Imagn Images\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: Bob Frid-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is going right for the Vancouver Canucks.<\/p>\n<p>They are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings, far behind the teams in the famed playoff mix.<\/p>\n<p>After trading their star defenseman, Quinn Hughes, to the Minnesota Wild, the organization could very well let another one of its stars, Elias Pettersson, go.<\/p>\n<p>According to Darren Dreger, the British Columbia team would be willing to listen to offers if the 27-year-old Swedish forward wants a change of scenery.<\/p>\n<p>David Pagnotta weighs in on the price to acquire Elias Pettersson<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;David Pagnotta: Re Elias Pettersson: I would expect three quality pieces here coming back, a 1st round pick, a top 2 center; and then another big asset, that&#8217;s kind of what you&#8217;re probably looking at; it&#8217;s gonna be a hefty price&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Inside Sports<\/p>\n<p>It could therefore cost Kent Hughes, if he wanted to acquire the forward, rookie center Oliver Kapanen, a 2026 first-round pick, and young defenseman David Reinbacher.<\/p>\n<p>Trading Kapanen is something to think twice about, especially when you consider the chemistry he currently has with Ivan Demidov.<\/p>\n<p>Watching them on the ice, you would think the duo has always played together, given how much they find each other everywhere on the rink.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I wouldn&#8217;t go after Pettersson, even if the price were smaller than the proposal above.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond his $11.6M annual salary through the end of the 2029-2030 season, it&#8217;s the Swede&#8217;s attitude that worries me.<\/p>\n<p>He has, on numerous occasions, been called out for a poor work ethic.<\/p>\n<p>Journalist Patrick Johnston recently discussed this in a <a href=\"https:\/\/theprovince.com\/sports\/hockey\/nhl\/vancouver-canucks\/was-patrik-allvin-too-busy-biggest-trade-team-history\" class=\"lien_marqueur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">piece<\/a> following the trade that sent Quinn Hughes to Minnesota.&#8221;Pettersson has been a frustration for his teammates in the past.
