target=\"_blank\">Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> in exchange for prospect forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/viktor-neuchev\/8483496\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/viktor-neuchev\/8483496\" target=\"_blank\">Viktor Neuchev<\/a>, according to TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston. <\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/sabres?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#sabres<\/a> have acquired defenseman Gavin Bayreuther from Carolina for prospect Viktor Neuchev<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/reporterchris\/status\/2015168252435927040?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 24, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Bayreuther, 31, had four goals and 13 points in 33 games this season with the AHL\u2019s Chicago Wolves. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He spent last season in Switzerland with Lausanne HC, where he scored five goals with 23 points in 52 games. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Bayreuther last suited up in the NHL during the 2022-23 season with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/columbus-blue-jackets\/29\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/columbus-blue-jackets\/29\" target=\"_blank\">Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>, when he played 51 games with the club. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Concord, N.H., native has appeared in 122 career NHL games, split between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/dallas-stars\/25\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/dallas-stars\/25\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Stars<\/a> and Blue Jackets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Neuchev, 22, was drafted in the third round (74th overall) by Buffalo in 2022. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In 34 games with the AHL\u2019s Rochester Americans this season, he has six goals and 16 points, his third with the team. <\/p>\n<p><script
