J.P. Barry, the agent for Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil, opened up this week about his client’s future in the National Hockey League amid his injury issues.<\/p>\n
The Vancouver Canucks have dealt with injury issues all season long and one of the more notable names that was on the sidelines was centerman Filip Chytil<\/a>, who reportedly sustained a concussion after being hit by Tom Wilson of the Washington Capitals back in October.<\/p>\n “I’m very excited, it was a long time. I can’t wait to be out there with my teammates and finally be on the ice. “I’ve never missed three months in the regular season, so I’m not expecting to come back and fly around on the first shift. I just have to be patient and go shift-by-shift.” Chytil said.<\/p>\n Filip Chytil’s agent opens up about clients future amid his injury history<\/p>\n While Filip Chytil pushed back on the reports of how many concussions he’s suffered throughout his hockey career, sustaining multiple, regardless of if you’re an athlete or not, can have long-term health effects later in life.<\/p>\n “I’ll be straightforward with it Rick and not duck it. I’ll give a little background on why I take this position. To me, it’s time to have the hard conversation with Filip Chytil that he may have to retire and he may need to think about another profession and that’s a hard conversation to have.” Button said.<\/p>\n While Button made some really good points in his interview with Rick Dhaliwal in October, it doesn’t look like Filip Chytil has any intentions to hang up the skates, with his agent, J.P. Barry, speaking about the matter during an appearance on Donnie and Dhali this week.<\/p>\n “We all have; we’ve had many discussions with Filip. He understands the situation. Our Czech agent also has been very involved with Filip, Ales Volek; we’ve worked with Ales for 20 years, and he’s very, very close to the Czech clients that we have, and they talk about everything. So, yes, he wants to play hockey, but you have to have those discussions when you have had that many injuries. But I think you know each one is different.
