The St. Louis Blues<\/a> are not happy with the current state of affairs. This, we know. GM Doug Armstrong is listening on just about everybody on his roster.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, there are certainly some young pieces that will not be subject to the rumors. According to insider Frank Seravalli<\/a>, there are five ‘untouchables’ that Armstrong will not be moving:<\/p>\n

I think they’re entertaining just about everyone, I think the only guys that end up staying there over the long haul are (Jake) Neighbours, (Dylan) Holloway, (Philip) Broberg and (Joel) Hofer, that’s kind of it… and I’d probably include (Jimmy) Snuggerud in that untouchable category.<\/p>\n

The Blues recently locked up\u00a0Broberg to a six-year extension with an average annual value of $8 million. Holloway, the other half of the offer sheet coup of the summer of 2024, will be a priority for Armstrong as well as he approaches restricted free agency this summer. His season has been derailed by a serious ankle sprain.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Binnington a likely trade candidate at some point, Hofer will be the Blues’ goaltender of the future. Neighbours and Snuggerud are first-round picks with bright futures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But as for the other big names on the Blues?\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Is Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas in play?” Seravalli asked himself. “Yes. Brayden Schenn, yes.”<\/p>\n

Throw Justin Faulk,\u00a0Mathieu Joseph, and maybe even Pavel Buchnevich in there as well, and you’ve got one heckuva fire sale. There isn’t a GM in the league who doesn’t have Doug Armstrong on speed dial at this point.<\/p>\n

The Blues are currently riding a four-game losing streak, and are second-last in the Western Conference with a 19-24-9 mark.<\/p>\n
