The whole hockey world knows Artemi Panarin is on his way toward being traded.<\/p>\n

The only question is what the New York Rangers<\/a> will ask to get in return.<\/p>\n

Sounds like the asking price is pretty high, too.<\/p>\n

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported<\/a> that the Rangers are looking for something similar to what the Islanders got a season ago when they traded Brock Nelson to the Colorado Avalanche<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In that deal, the Islanders got a first-round pick, promising prospect Calum Ritchie and a third-round pick.<\/p>\n

Panarin is a better scorer than Nelson has ever been, but Nelson gained value from being a center.<\/p>\n

This season, Panarin has 56 points in 51 games.<\/p>\n

He also has a no-move clause in his contract, so he’s in control of where he does or doesn’t end up.<\/p>\n

Friedman listed three possible destinations:<\/p>\n

It could be some seriously intriguing bidding as the trade deadline gets closer and Panarin remains available for the taking.<\/p>\n
