The Dallas Mavericks<\/a> didn\u2019t have much time to wallow over a fourth-quarter meltdown that led to another loss to Luka Doncic and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Instead, they had to rush through their postgame routines and media obligations in a last-ditch effort to fly to Milwaukee for Sunday\u2019s quick turnaround game against the Bucks. <\/p>\n

The Mavericks arrived at Dallas Love Field, but deemed it wasn\u2019t safe to travel through the wintry weather and turned their buses back around to remain in town for the night. <\/p>\n

The team hoped to fly to Milwaukee on Sunday, but after lengthy flight delays, the team will no longer travel for the 6 p.m. game against the Bucks. The planned departure from Dallas was initially around 11:30 a.m., but it became clear that playing Sunday night\u2019s game was unrealistic.<\/p>\n

The NBA confirmed the postponement with an announcement<\/a>, citing the Mavericks\u2019 \u201cinability to leave Dallas as a result of inclement weather in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

The league has yet to announce the date for rescheduled game, but the make-up date for the game appears to be Feb. 19, which is the night before Dallas is scheduled to come out of the All-Star break to face the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Another possibility would be a quick make-up game on Monday night, but that\u2019s under the assumption the Mavericks can fly out of Dallas on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Mavs will not play the Bucks tonight. No announcement from the NBA, but it appears the make-up date for Mavs at Bucks will be Feb. 19 or, if details can be worked out, a quick makeup date on Monday. The latter, however, would assume the Mavs can get out of Dallas later today.<\/p>\n

Dallas was hit with heavy precipitation on Saturday night, which included freezing rain along with a mixture of sleet and snow.<\/a> More snow is expected to fall on Sunday, which complicated travel plans for the Mavericks.<\/p>\n

Coach Jason Kidd foreshadowed similar circumstances before Thursday\u2019s game against the Golden State Warriors when he was asked about the possibility of Saturday\u2019s game against the Lakers being postponed.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut now the other games could be in doubt,\u201d Kidd said. \u201cThat\u2019s just something the league will have to decide on as we go forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mavericks center Daniel Gafford was optimistic about the Mavericks\u2019 chances to leave during his postgame media session on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just hope and pray we make it before the storm hits,\u201d Gafford said. \u201cThat\u2019s pretty much it.\u201d<\/p>\n
