However, the team rallied behind their new star and put together a convincing effort in arguably the biggest win of their season so far. All of that is now in the past, and Marner and the Golden Knights can now look to keep their status atop the Pacific Division intact.

Here is how they can continue their march to the postseason in Canada’s capital.

Keep them in check

Despite recent struggles, the Senators are still clicking offensively.

Before Sunday’s slate, the Senators sit in 12th in goals per game with a 3.22 clip. They have a top-ten power play (22.9% success rate) and have a number of stars who can make magic happen in the offensive zone. The Golden Knights will have to hone in on these threats and play a responsible defensive game any time the Senators have their best players on the ice.

Fire at will

Similar to the Golden Knights, the Senators have not exactly had the best of luck in the goaltending department this season.

With Linus Ullmark currently out on a personal leave of absence and Leevi Merilainen’s season-long struggles, the goaltending duo that was in Vegas back in November is out. In their place are James Reimer and recently recalled Mads Sogaard, neither of whom inspire much confidence. The Golden Knights took advantage of a shaky goaltender situation in Toronto last time out, and keeping the offense rolling is paramount if they want to do it again.

Don’t overlook

On paper, everything seems to be trending in favor of the Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights have won eight of their last ten games, while the Senators have lost seven of their last ten. However, one of those losses for Vegas came at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers, who entered the game in the exact same situation. This could easily devolve into a trap game for the Golden Knights, so they need everyone on top of their game to get a much better result this time out.

Now that the Vegas Golden Knights have had the opportunity to decompress, they can finally put all of…

[5129
149,5317,5,1041,6874,1326,539,1086,533,13257,4,25,56,31,74,39,5316
post-431635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-vegas-golden-knights","tag-golden-knights","tag-goldenknights","tag-hockey","tag-jack-eichel","tag-james-reimer","tag-las-vegas","tag-linus-ullmark","tag-mads-sogaard","tag-mitch-marner","tag-nevada","tag-nhl","tag-ottawa-senators","tag-philadelphia-flyers","tag-toronto-maple-leafs","tag-vegas","tag-vegas-golden-knights","tag-vegasgoldenknights
["GET
