TSN.ca keeps you up to date with all the latest news and rumours ahead of the freeze and will return after for the final Countdown to TradeCentre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Follow all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/tradecentre\/trade-tracker\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/tradecentre\/trade-tracker\/\">the latest trades here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/free-agency\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/free-agency\/\">the most up to date signings here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Kane set to move?<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vancouver-canucks\/23\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vancouver-canucks\/23\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> winger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/evander-kane\/8475169\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/evander-kane\/8475169\" target=\"_blank\">Evander Kane<\/a> met with the media Tuesday to discuss his future after <a href=\"https:\/\/theprovince.com\/sports\/hockey\/nhl\/vancouver-canucks\/evander-kane-dan-milstein-trade-help\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/theprovince.com\/sports\/hockey\/nhl\/vancouver-canucks\/evander-kane-dan-milstein-trade-help\">multiple reports indicated<\/a> his agent, Dan Milstein, has been given permission by the team to facilitate a trade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI think there\u2019s a lot of names that are out there. All of a sudden, just because a member of the Vancouver media to tweet it out, we got a big scrum today,\u201d Kane said of the added attention Tuesday. \u201cBut yeah, it\u2019s part of the process. It\u2019s part of the way business is done at the NHL level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Speculation regarding Kane\u2019s future in Vancouver is nothing new, with the Canucks sending a memo out in November that the team was willing to listen on their pending unrestricted free agents. Winger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/kiefer-sherwood\/8480748\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/kiefer-sherwood\/8480748\" target=\"_blank\">Kiefer Sherwood<\/a> was dealt to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/san-jose-sharks\/28\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/san-jose-sharks\/28\" target=\"_blank\">San Jose Sharks<\/a> last week and Kane could be the next to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kane spoke prior to a 5-2 loss to the Sharks, which marked Vancouver\u2019s 14th defeat in their past 15 games. The team sits last in the NHL with a 17-31-5, eight points behind the 31st-place <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/st-louis-blues\/19\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Blues<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cYeah, I think everybody\u2019s disappointed with how the season has gone,\u201d Kane said. \u201cNobody wanted to be in last place. I don\u2019t think anybody has that anticipation or that desire to start off a year. But it is what it is, and, you know, you have to be ready to show up to work and be a professional. I think that\u2019s what everybody in the room has done so far. We\u2019ll let the chips fall where they may.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t think anybody anticipated, from top to bottom, the season going the way it\u2019s gone. So, you know, when that does happen, I think every single year with the team who\u2019s in last place, changes happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 34-year-old Kane has nine goals and 24 points in 52 games with the Canucks this season after being acquired from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" target=\"_blank\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a> for a fourth-round pick in June. He carries a cap hit of $5.125 million on his expiring deal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Vancouver native missed all of regular season last year before returning for the playoffs with the Oilers, posting six goals and 12 points during the team\u2019s second consecutive run to the Stanley Cup Final. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Having played a key role for the Oilers in each of the last four postseasons, Kane is hoping to have a chance to take part in the playoffs once again this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t know if there\u2019s a person in this room that doesn\u2019t have a hunger to play playoff hockey,\u201d Kane acknowledged. \u201cWhen you train all summer and come to training camp, that\u2019s what you\u2019re training to do. So, obviously that\u2019s a desire for anybody, and that\u2019s no different with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jets not in on Wright<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">While the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" target=\"_blank\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a> weigh their deadline options, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports the team has not reached out to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/seattle-kraken\/55\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/seattle-kraken\/55\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle Kraken<\/a> regarding the availability of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/shane-wright-874941\/8483524\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/shane-wright-874941\/8483524\" target=\"_blank\">Shane Wright<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Kraken are willing to move Wright if the former No. 4 overall pick can land the team a top-six winger for their playoff push. While some have speculated the 22-year-old centre could be a fit in Winnipeg, Dreger notes no conversations have taken place between the two teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019re at a crossroads to be fair and, directionally, it\u2019s still somewhat uncertain as to what the plan is for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" target=\"_blank\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a>,&#8221; Dreger explained Tuesday on Insider Trading. \u201cRight now, their focus is on winning and not about what\u2019s being speculated around their team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThey don\u2019t control the speculation, and is it a waste of time for general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to put out fires and spike speculation?<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWhat I can tell you is that if we\u2019re relating speculation for Seattle and Winnipeg, there\u2019s been no conversation between those two clubs about the potential availability of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/shane-wright-874941\/8483524\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/shane-wright-874941\/8483524\" target=\"_blank\">Shane Wright<\/a>. Now, maybe that changes down the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe focus for Winnipeg is on winning, but if they have to shift into a sell mode. I would look at somebody like big defenceman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/logan-stanley\/8479378\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/logan-stanley\/8479378\" target=\"_blank\">Logan Stanley<\/a>. He\u2019s an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. There has been no contract extension dialogue between Stanley, the Jets and the agent involved, so he could be a piece that betters their position in the draft, but it\u2019s too early.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Stanley, 27, has eight goals and 17 points in 51 games this season while averaging 16:32 of ice time per game. He carries a cap hit of $1.25 million on his expiring deal. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Jets are 6-2-2 in their past 10 games but continue to try to recover from a nosedive that has left the team outside the playoff picture. Winnipeg is currently eight points back of the Sharks for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference after winning the Presidents\u2019 Trophy last year. <\/p>\n<p>Wild eyeing a top-six centre <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/minnesota-wild\/30\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/minnesota-wild\/30\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Wild<\/a> already made what could stand as the biggest trade of the season in acquiring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/quinn-hughes\/8480800\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/quinn-hughes\/8480800\" target=\"_blank\">Quinn Hughes<\/a> last month, but it appears general manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/bill-guerin\/8456464\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/bill-guerin\/8456464\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Guerin<\/a> is not done trying to add to his roster. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6997270\/2026\/01\/26\/wild-fleury-unretire-goalie-fanduel-foligno\/?source=emp_shared_article\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6997270\/2026\/01\/26\/wild-fleury-unretire-goalie-fanduel-foligno\/?source=emp_shared_article\">Michael Russo of The Athletic<\/a> reports Guerin is looking for a top-six centre to bolster his roster and believes the team will have interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/vincent-trocheck\/8476389\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/vincent-trocheck\/8476389\" target=\"_blank\">Vincent Trocheck<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-york-rangers\/3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/new-york-rangers\/3\" target=\"_blank\">New York Rangers<\/a>. Citing sources, Russo reports the Wild aren\u2019t on the 12-team no-trade list Trocheck has part of the seven-year, $39.4 million deal he inked with the Rangers in 2022. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Signed at a cap hit of $5.624 million through the 2028-29 season, Trocheck has 11 goals and 33 points in 39 games this season. He has topped the 20-goal mark in each of the past four years and scored a career-best 31 goals with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Panthers<\/a> in 2017-18. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Guerin also serves also general manager of Team USA and named Trocheck to the roster for both the 4 Nations Face-Off last year and the upcoming Winter Olympics. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Russo wonders if the Wild could attempt to flip forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/david-jiricek\/8483460\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/david-jiricek\/8483460\" target=\"_blank\">David Jiricek<\/a> to acquire a first-round pick as fodder to make another deal, while trading breakout rookie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/jesper-wallstedt\/8482661\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/jesper-wallstedt\/8482661\" target=\"_blank\">Jesper Wallstedt<\/a> also appears to be on the table in Minnesota. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Wallstedt was the final name listed on the updated TSN Trade Bait board last week, slipping on at No. 35.
