{"id":433130,"date":"2026-01-28T20:49:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/433130\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T20:49:40","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:49:40","slug":"bruins-hampus-lindholm-added-to-sweden-olympic-roster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/433130\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruins&#8217; Hampus Lindholm Added to Sweden Olympic Roster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is another <a href=\"http:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bruin<\/a> going to Milan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday morning, the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Trekronorse\/status\/2016190162246447545?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced<\/a> that Boston Bruins defenseman <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/hampus-lindholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hampus Lindholm<\/a> has been added to the 2026 Olympic roster.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lindholm has three goals and 13 assists in 39 games played with the Bruins this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His 68 blocked shots are the fourth most on the team. He averages 22:04 of ice time per game and has played on both the power play (avg. 1:35 per game) and penalty kill (avg. 2:56 per game) this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lindholm represented Sweden most recently at the 2018 IIHF World Championships; he had six assists in 10 games. He was named to the Tre Kronor at the 2013 World Junior Championships, but <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/blogs\/jrhockey-buzzing-the-net\/world-junior-championship-sweden-hampus-lindholm-finland-miro-112456746.html?guccounter=1&amp;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&amp;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAFcNmVb9iU59Gd85lRggLCgdfNdTfcmI3d2O5uDC0x-WChjGmBPX1znwwIsv9Rbs7kAL6O-GMfwf85CEJ1Om_s-VahFXkQrhPriu7y1igypbbDNY1a2Gwjqg1ArKYJ_Prukjt-lXdUQ6yjmKO9ViJTl2_Sdf3h2nyMrIoZFCQY10\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">did not play due to a concussion<\/a>. He also played at the 2012 U18 Championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lindholm was added to replace Niklas Kronwall at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/world-cup-of-hockey\/hampus-lindholm-replace-niklas-kronwall-swedens-world-cup-roster\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2016 World Cup of Hockey;<\/a>\u00a0he did not appear in a game. He suffered an injury in November 2024, which kept him out of contention for the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He will replace an injured <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jonas-brodin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonas Brodin<\/a>. Brodin, who plays for the Wild, is having surgery on a lower-body injury and is set to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/wild-brodin-olympics-injuries-c9cb540b1b45428f3ac93ec5dc098b70\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">miss 6-8 weeks<\/a>, he has not played since Jan. 12.<\/p>\n<p>Also joining Lindholm in Sweden is former Bruin <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/marcus-johansson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marcus Johansson<\/a>. The Minnesota Wild forward has 34 points in 48 games this season, and has been playing on a one-year contract worth $800,000.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Johansson is replacing Anaheim Ducks forward <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/leo-carlsson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leo Carlsson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hampus Lindholm now joins seven Bruins already named to Milan. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/elias-lindholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elias Lindholm<\/a> will also be representing Sweden. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/henri-jokiharju\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henri Jokiharju<\/a> is playing for Team Finland. <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/charlie-mcavoy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie McAvoy<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jeremy-swayman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Swayman<\/a> will represent the United States, and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/david-pastrnak\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Pastrnak<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/pavel-zacha\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pavel Zacha<\/a> were named to Team Czechia over the summer. Also, Bruins prospect <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/dans-locmelis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dans Locmelis<\/a> will be playing for Latvia.<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins have four more games before the break and will close out this stretch of the season on the road in Florida. The Bruins fly down for a Stadium Series game in Tampa, then travel to Sunrise for a game against the Panthers on Wednesday, Feb. 4.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The league will enter a roster freeze on Feb. 4 at 3:00 PM ET. The freeze will lift on Feb. 22, at 11:59 PM ET.
