The Ducks currently sit in 3rd place in the Pacific Division, just behind the Vegas Golden Knights and the Edmonton Oilers. The Ducks look to get back on the hot streak tonight after they suffered their first loss in two weeks in a tough 4-7 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. However, this loss came off the back of a seven-game winning streak, where they took down other top teams like the Colorado Avalanche or the Dallas Stars.

Vancouver Canucks News and Notes:

The Vancouver Canucks continue to change faces in this strenuous month of January, officially sidelining Thatcher Demko as he heads for hip surgery, along with Evander Kane officially in trade talks. However, the last time Vancouver took on the Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver took the win in a hard-fought 5-4 victory at Rogers Arena on November 26th. With the time of return for Brock Boeser and Zeev Buium still in question, it might turn out to be more of an uphill battle for the Vancouver Canucks tonight.

Anaheim Ducks Projected Lines:

Killorn-Granlund-Sennecke
Kreider-Harkins-Strome
Viel-Poehling-Gauthier
Johnston-Washe-Moore

LaCombe-Trouba
Mintyukov-Helleson
Zellweger-Gudas

Dostal
Husso

Vancouver Canucks Projected Lines:

DeBrusk-E. For example, Mikael Granlund became the second straight Duck to record a hat-trick for Anaheim, while also notching six points in his last three games. The second was Beckett Sennecke, who logged a hat-trick on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. The top three Calder Trophy favourites also tacked on two assists in Monday’s contest as well, notching five points in two games.

Vancouver Canucks:

With so many core Canucks being rumoured to move, Elias Pettersson is starting to step into more of a leadership role. In their tough 5-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, Pettersson was able to contribute on both goals, notching two assists. Pettersson looks to continue his three game point streak in tonight’s matchup. Jake DeBrusk, in his solidified slot on the top line, was able to grab an assist on both Canucks goals as well, proving to be a go-to guy on this new-look Canucks roster.

6

Injury Report:

Detroit Red Wings:

C Mason McTavish – Day to Day
C Leo Carlsson – Day to Day
RW Troy Terry – IR
LW Frank Vatrano – IR
G Petr Mrazek – IR

Vancouver Canucks:

D Zeev Buium – IR
C Marco Rossi – IR
RW Brock Boeser – IR
G Thatcher Demko – IR
D Guillaume Brisebois – IR
D Derek Forbort – LTIR
G Thatcher Demko – SELTIR

Next Game:

Anaheim Ducks: Monday, February 1 vs Vegas Golden Knights – 9:30pm ET
Vancouver Canucks: Saturday, January 31 vs Toronto Maple Leafs – 7pm ET

Discover more from Inside The Rink

Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email.

Anaheim Ducks (28-22-3, 59 pts) at Vancouver Canucks (17-31-5, 39 pts)Venue: Rogers ArenaDate: Thursday, January 29Time: 10:00 pm…

[5128
1199,305,503,26,894,144,147,146,2318,690,5,7747,3040,3043,1271,4,2330,168,6377,3689,893,27,5313,39,1289
post-434380","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-vancouver-canucks","tag-beckett-sennecke","tag-brock-boeser","tag-calder-trophy","tag-calgary-flames","tag-canucks","tag-colorado-avalanche","tag-dallas-stars","tag-edmonton-oilers","tag-elias-pettersson","tag-evander-kane","tag-hockey","tag-jake-debrusk","tag-leo-carlsson","tag-mason-mctavish","tag-mikael-granlund","tag-nhl","tag-rogers-arena","tag-san-jose-sharks","tag-thatcher-demko","tag-troy-terry","tag-vancouver","tag-vancouver-canucks","tag-vancouvercanucks","tag-vegas-golden-knights","tag-zeev-buium
["GET
