The Winnipeg Jets<\/a>\u00a0are staring down an ugly stretch, losing four of their last six games, and a recent 5-1 loss at home to the Detroit Red Wings only turned up the heat on what comes next.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the deadline approach getting louder, the new name tied to Winnipeg is Seattle Kraken<\/a> center Shane Wright, a former fourth overall pick who suddenly looks like he might actually be attainable.<\/p>\n

Winnipeg\u2019s interest is real, and Perfetti\u2019s name is in the mix<\/p>\n

David Pagnotta reported the Jets have shown interest in Wright, and the chatter includes Cole Perfetti being part of early discussions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perfetti is still just 24 and has 15 points, four goals and 11 assists, in 38 games this season, so Winnipeg has to decide if swapping a known young NHL piece for another young center is a smart bet, or just moving furniture around.<\/p>\n

Why the Kraken are listening on Wright right now<\/p>\n

Elliotte Friedman backed up the idea that Seattle is legitimately open to exploring a Wright deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wright is 22, drafted fourth overall in 2022, and he has 18 points this season on seven goals and 11 assists in 52 games while averaging 13:48 per night, including at least one game where his minutes dipped under 10, which keeps feeding the \u201codd man out\u201d vibe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His career line sits at 69 points with 31 goals in 147 games, and the Kraken still want a significant return if they are actually going to pull the trigger.<\/p>\n

He looked like he might be breaking out last year when he posted 19 goals and 44 points in 79 games.<\/p>\n

If Winnipeg is serious, the best version of this is finding a way to add Wright without turning it into a Perfetti for Wright straight swap, because that kind of move can feel lateral unless Seattle is adding something meaningful back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
