In the past few hours, we learned of an important personnel change within the Canadiens organization.<\/p>\n
Since the start of the season, the Montreal Canadiens and the Laval Rocket have made several changes in goal.<\/p>\n
Jacob Fowler, Samuel Montembeault, and Jakub Dobes have all played multiple games this season.<\/p>\n
Hunter Jones and Kaapo Kahkonen have also played for the Rocket this season.<\/p>\n
Goaltending picture continues to shift within the Canadiens organization<\/p>\n
That said, the organization made several roster moves and announced the signing of a goaltender.<\/p>\n
Here is the announcement:<\/p>\n
“The Rocket have recalled goaltender Hunter Jones from the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions.<\/p>\n
Goaltender Ben Gaudreau will be out of action for an indefinite period for personal reasons.<\/p>\n
The Trois-Rivi\u00e8res Lions have therefore signed emergency goaltender Chris Pascal.” – Lions<\/p>\n
Jones is far from an unknown name. He was drafted in the second round, 59th overall, by the Minnesota Wild in 2019. Seeing him return to the Rocket, even for a short stint, is good news for him.<\/p>\n
Jacob Fowler has already had a taste of Montreal<\/p>\n
When it comes to the depth chart, it\u2019s impossible to avoid Jacob Fowler.<\/p>\n
This season, he has already played 10 NHL games with the Canadiens, posting a 4-4-2 record, a 2.62 goals-against average, and a .902 save percentage, along with one shutout.<\/p>\n
Fowler, drafted 69th overall in 2023, has shown that he can play in the NHL.<\/p>\n
With the goaltending picture continuing to evolve, more moves could be on the horizon within the Canadiens organization.<\/p>\n
