The Penguins\u2019 win shot their playoff hopes up to 84.6% according to Moneypuck.com. Put it this way\u2013the Capitals are now the closest team out of the playoffs that could take away the Penguins\u2019 postseason. The Penguins have three games in hand and a six-point advantage. <\/p>\n
If the Penguins merely get 30 points in their final 30 games, then Washington would need at least 36 in their remaining 27 games, which is a 15-6-6 run. The Penguins could be 12-12-6 and likely get there. <\/p>\n
