In each of the past two games, the Bruins have lost their first-line center to injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marco Sturm issued an update on the two top-six forwards after the Bruins\u2019 practice in Brighton on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth are not traveling,\u201d Sturm said<\/a>. \u201cSo that means most likely, they are out [Sunday.] We\u2019ll see after that game. Still day-to-day, but yeah, it doesn\u2019t look good for the next game, that\u2019s for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Elias Lindholm<\/a> left the Bruins\u2019 game early on Tuesday<\/a>; he played 12 shifts for 11:03. He suffered an upper-body injury. He spent Thursday undergoing evaluations with the Bruins\u2019 team doctors and trainers.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pavel Zacha<\/a> left Thursday\u2019s game<\/a> with an upper-body injury. He also skated in 12 shifts, logging 10:46 of ice time and scoring a goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201c[Lindholm] was with our doctors this afternoon,\u201d Sturm said after the Bruins 6-3 win on Thursday. \u201cI didn\u2019t get the result yet. So, I\u2019m going to have an update tomorrow, and hopefully a little more on [Zacha].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Both Lindholm (Sweden) and Zacha (Czechia) are on their nation\u2019s roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Do the injuries impact their chances of going to Milan?<\/p>\n \u201cAs of right now, I heard not,\u201d Sturm added when asked. \u201cBut again, we just have to follow up, day by day. Players are in contact with their federation; we\u2019re kind of out of it. As of right now, they all plan to go, but it could change.\u201d<\/p>\n Zacha has 37 points (15-22\u201337) on the season, with 15 (5-10\u201315) of them coming on the power play. He plays on both the power play and the penalty kill.<\/p>\n Lindholm also has 37 points (11-26\u201337), and he has 17 points (6-11\u201317) on the power play. <\/p>\n The Bruins recalled Matt Poitras<\/a> ahead of their game on Thursday. He is expected to travel with the team to Florida for the outdoor game.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sturm also added that the Bruins cannot call someone up from Providence due to roster constraints<\/a>. The Bruins would need to place one of the forwards on the injured reserve to create roster space.\u00a0<\/p>\n
