A new report shows that the Montreal Canadiens want a physical power forward and with the Maple Leafs looking to sell, it could be a perfect fit for Bobby McMann.<\/p>\n

As the Toronto Maple Leafs look towards a potential retooling of the team, a lot of discussion has come about regarding who should stay and who should go as the team looks to make several changes.<\/p>\n

One of those players is Bobby McMann, who has really come into his own over the past season and a half not only showing a ton of offensive potential, but has coupled it with breakneck speed and underrated physicality.<\/p>\n

Toronto may have a trade partner in their biggest rivals<\/p>\n

One team who is reportedly looking for a player like McMann so happens to be one who Toronto rarely makes deals with but could end up biting the bullet and making a deal with their biggest rivals — Montreal.<\/p>\n

A new report from Pierre LeBrun revealed that Montreal is in the market for a physical top-six winger who can add some flexibility and versatility to their lineup:<\/p>\n

They could still trade for a center…I don’t feel that internally they view it with the same urgency; if they went out and got a top 6 winger who has some physicality, that would address just as much of a need at this point.<\/p>\n

If that’s the case, then McMann seems like a perfectly suitable option for GM Kent Hughes and the Maple Leafs need to seriously consider a deal especially knowing what Montreal has.<\/p>\n

Toronto should genuinely see if Montreal and McMann are a fit<\/p>\n

They have eight picks this upcoming draft alone, not to mention a slew of picks in the next two years. If Montreal isn’t feeling the whole Joshua Roy experience, then he could be a piece headed back with a mid-range pick in order to get McMann.<\/p>\n

Or, if they were a bit more proactive looking at the blueline, they should see if Hughes would be willing to part with either Owen Protz or Adam Engstrom although that might take a little more than just McMann; but it would help reshape their blueline for the future.<\/p>\n

This is the time for the Maple Leafs to accept defeat and see where they can get the best deal possible and that may lie with their century old enemies.<\/p>\n
