{"id":438723,"date":"2026-01-31T22:21:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T22:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/438723\/"},"modified":"2026-01-31T22:21:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T22:21:14","slug":"tampta-lightning-brayden-point-lower-body-injury-skates-at-practice-as-olympics-loom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/438723\/","title":{"rendered":"Tampta Lightning Brayden Point (lower-body injury) skates at practice as Olympics loom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/tampa-bay-lightning\/14\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/tampa-bay-lightning\/14\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/brayden-point\/8478010\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/brayden-point\/8478010\" target=\"_blank\">Brayden Point<\/a> skated Saturday morning alongside his teammates as he works his way back from a lower-body injury with the start of Olympic men\u2019s hockey just under two weeks away. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Point was one of the first six players named to Team Canada\u2019s Olympic roster in June but was injured on Jan. 12 in a 5-1 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/philadelphia-flyers\/4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/philadelphia-flyers\/4\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Earlier in the week, TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston said that Canada was not looking at an injury replacement for Point at this time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWell, it didn\u2019t look too good when he went down with that injury in Philadelphia earlier in the month,\u201d said Johnston Tuesday on Insider Trading. \u201cWhat I can tell you since then is that the news has gotten at least a little bit more encouraging. At this point in time, it is fully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/brayden-point\/8478010\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/brayden-point\/8478010\" target=\"_blank\">Point<\/a>\u2019s intention to get himself back healthy and get himself ready to play for Team Canada in Milan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThere\u2019s only a week and a half until the players fly over there, so he\u2019s going to have to continue to make progress [and] perhaps even get into a game for the Lightning. But at this point in time, we\u2019re not talking about an injury replacement. We\u2019re talking about Point getting healthy enough in time to play for Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Point will not play in Sunday\u2019s Stadium Series game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/boston-bruins\/6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/boston-bruins\/6\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Bruins<\/a> at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
