Cole Caufield and Jakub Dobes took matters into their own hands Saturday night to help the Canadiens sweep the Sabres in a critical win for the standings.<\/p>\n

With this 4\u20132 victory, Martin St-Louis\u2019s group officially moves ahead of Buffalo in the Atlantic Division with a total of 69 points.<\/p>\n

Jakub Dobes is simply on fire these days in front of his net.<\/p>\n

The Czech goaltender stopped 36 shots, a season high for the 5th-round pick in the 2020 draft.<\/p>\n

He had to come up big often, especially when the defense showed some obvious breakdowns in the second period.<\/p>\n

Dobes has now won his last six starts in goal for Montreal.<\/p>\n

His 8-0-1 record over his last nine appearances is worthy of an unquestioned number-one goaltender in today\u2019s NHL.<\/p>\n

Cole Caufield and Jakub Dobes lead the Canadiens on the ice and in the locker room<\/p>\n

An incredible moment caught everyone\u2019s attention after the win, when Nick Suzuki handed the wolf head to Cole Caufield, calling him Mr. Saturday Night in front of the entire locker room.<\/p>\n

Caufield\u2019s response in the locker room had everyone bursting out laughing after the game.<\/p>\n

“We only get one Saturday night a week.”<\/p>\n

You can finally feel that this team has a knife between its teeth and refuses to lose an important game.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the rink, Cole Caufield once again proved that he loves playing on Saturday nights.<\/p>\n

The sharpshooter scored two goals to bring his total to 32 this season.<\/p>\n

Only Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid are doing better than him across the entire league right now.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unbelievable to watch him produce with such consistency night after night.<\/p>\n

By scoring on a pass from Nick Suzuki, the 2022 first overall pick surpassed the legend Henri Richard.<\/p>\n

He now has 63 goals before the age of 22, sitting alone in second place in franchise history.<\/p>\n

The contribution of the \u201cnew\u201d veterans was also felt when it mattered most.<\/p>\n

Noah Dobson delivered an incredible pass to Caufield for the tying goal in the third period.<\/p>\n

That vision completely changes the Canadiens\u2019 offensive dynamic from the blue line.<\/p>\n
