SUNRISE, Florida \u2013\u00a0The Utah Mammoth are dipping back into their minor league system after recalling 2023 first-round pick Dmitri Simashev<\/a> ahead of Tuesday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Forward Cameron Hebig was sent down in a corresponding move.<\/p>\n

The Mammoth (27-21-4, 58 pts) is facing the Florida Panthers (28-20-3, 59 pts) at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday, January 27.<\/p>\n

We have recalled defenseman Dmitri Simashev from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL). <\/p>\n

Utah has opened up a three-point lead for the top Western Conference Wild Card spot. The San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and Seattle Kraken linger with 55 points each. The Panthers are third in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race, trailing the Boston Bruins by four points.<\/p>\n

Dmitri Simashev recalled by the Utah Mammoth<\/p>\n

Simashev has already played 24 games with Utah as a rookie this season, registering one assist in more than 15 minutes a night.<\/p>\n

The Arizona Coyotes selected Simashev with the 6th pick in the 2023 NHL draft out of the Kontinental Hockey League (Russia), where he played with Lokomotiv.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Russian native was named a 2026 AHL All-Star<\/a> on January 15. He has five goals and 15 assists in 20 games with the Roadrunners, flashing his playmaking ability.<\/p>\n
