Edmonton Oilers<\/a> goaltender Calvin Pickard<\/a> cleared waivers on Monday.<\/p>\n

Pickard, 33, was placed on waivers on Sunday after going 5-6-2 in 16 appearances this season with an .871 save percentage and 3.68 goals-against average. He hasn\u2019t appeared in a game since Jan. 8.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1 netminder became the Oilers\u2019 third goaltender after the team acquired Tristan Jarry<\/a> from the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> in December and the emergence of Connor Ingram<\/a> from the AHL\u2019s Bakersfield Condors.<\/p>\n

Jarry has gone 6-3-1 in 10 games since joining the Oilers to go along with an .873 save percentage and 3.59 GAA.<\/p>\n

Ingram was acquired by the Oilers prior to the season in a deal with the Utah Mammoth<\/a> for future considerations.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1 netminder appeared in 11 games in the AHL, going 4-5-2 with a 4.04 GAA and .856 save percentage before joining the Oilers at the end of the December.<\/p>\n

Since arriving in Edmonton, Ingram is 6-4-1 with a .901 save percentage and 2.55 GAA.<\/p>\n

Pickard is on the final season of a two-year, $2 million contract and carries a cap hit of $1 million. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The Moncton, N.B., native played an important role in last year\u2019s playoffs for Edmonton. He took over as the starter in Game 3 of the first round against the Los Angeles Kings<\/a> with Stuart Skinner<\/a> struggling, and backstopped them the rest of the series and through the first two games of the second round against the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was injured in Game 3 against the Golden Knights and was replaced by Skinner, who led them through the series and the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pickard would return for the Stanley Cup Final, replacing Skinner in Games 3 and Game 4. The Oilers would go on to lose in six games to the Florida Panthers<\/a> for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n

Drafted 49th overall by the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> in 2010, Pickard has a career 74-77-14 record with a .901 save percentage and 2.96 GAA split between the Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>, Philadelphia Flyers<\/a>, Arizona Coyotes, Detroit Red Wings<\/a> and Oilers.<\/p>\n

Flames\u2019 Kirland also clears<\/p>\n

Calgary Flames<\/a> forward Justin Kirkland<\/a> also cleared waivers on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kirkland, 29, appeared in 20 games with the Flames this season, recording a goal and two points.<\/p>\n

He also appeared in 14 games with AHL\u2019s Calgary Wrangers, recording five goals and seven points this season.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3 centre signed a one-year, $900,000 deal to stay in Calgary in the off-season and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Kirkland joined the Flames as an unrestricted free agent in July of 2024.<\/p>\n

Drafted 62nd overall by the Nashville Predators<\/a> in 2014, Kirkland has three goals and 10 points in 50 career games split between the Anaheim Ducks<\/a>, Arizona Coyotes, and Flames.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Edmonton Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard cleared waivers on Monday.
