The Avalanche\u2019s captain, who will likely also don the \u2018C\u2019 for Sweden, is not going to miss the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Gabe Landeskog has been out for nearly a month for Colorado since suffering an upper-body injury in Florida. Landeskog crashed into the goal post in Florida while battling for a loose puck between the hashmarks.<\/p>\n

Despite the lengthy rehab, it doesn\u2019t sound like Landeskog\u2019s participation in the upcoming Winter Olympics is in jeopardy.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I don\u2019t think it is, no,\u201d Avs head coach Jared Bednar said.<\/p>\n

The Avs\u2019 last game is on Wednesday, which is a full week before Sweden plays its first Olympic game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it\u2019s unlikely Gabe plays Wednesday. He\u2019s pushing the timeline pretty tight,\u201d Bednar said. \u201cHe obviously skated with the group again today, doing more and more in the gym, and feeling really good.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they were playing games on Friday already, they\u2019d be like, well, maybe we should get him in a game to make sure he\u2019s good to go. With the amount of time before they actually start playing competitive games over there, I think it\u2019s probably one of those where you\u2019re like, if you\u2019re not ready on Wednesday, you can still be ready to start the Olympics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Landeskog stuck around the entire time for Monday\u2019s morning skate. He skated early with Devon Toews before changing into a red non-contact sweater to join the rest of his teammates. Landeskog seemed to be moving well and looked like he\u2019s ramped up his training quite a bit.<\/p>\n

Monday night\u2019s matchup against the Detroit Red Wings will be the 13th consecutive game without Landeskog. He has seven goals and 22 points in 41 games.<\/p>\n

The Avs also will not have Martin Necas, who was a late scratch on Saturday in Detroit with an upper-body injury. Bednar said he\u2019s hopeful that Necas could return Wednesday. Whether he does or not, his Olympic participation is not in jeopardy either.<\/p>\n
