The key element here is that the teams talked with each other, and a deal could potentially go down before the trade deadline.<\/p>\n
Schenn or Stanley would be two great candidates for Detroit, despite their pending free agent status.<\/p>\n
However, considering the big age difference between the two players, with Schenn being 36 and Stanley 27, the latter appears to be more interesting for Yzerman.<\/p>\n
Also, his size makes him an attractive target as well. At six-foot-seven, he would become the tallest player on the Wings’ blue line, surpassing Simon Edvinsson’s six-foot-six.<\/p>\n
And with him injured, making a deal sooner rather than later would be an ideal move for Yzerman.<\/p>\n
