\n\tAs the world enters yet another month obsessed with Heated Rivalry<\/a>, Google<\/a> has unveiled some of the at-times slightly unhinged terms people are searching in the lead up to the 2026 Winter Olympic games. Unsurprisingly, there\u2019s an increased interest in several hockey-related terms, with Heated Rivalry itself being top trending related show.<\/p>\n

\n\tSearches for \u201cBoy aquarium,\u201d the TikTok-originated term for hockey arenas, is at an all-time high, according to the search engine, with \u201chockey goalie warm up\u201d as a popular break out search over the last month. Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams<\/a>\u2019 appearance on The Tonight Show, where the 24-year-old actor enlists host Jimmy Fallon in hockey stretches<\/a> in front of the audience, provides some context as to why people are investigating if that\u2019s actually happening at hockey games. Spoiler alert, it is.<\/p>\n

\n\tSearches for \u201chockey players\u201d is at a 10-year high, while \u201care there any gay hockey players\u201d is an all-time high. There\u2019s also an increased interest in ice sports ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. \u201cOlympic hockey schedule\u201d and \u201colympic figure skating schedule\u201d lead the winter games\u2019 event schedule searches, and \u201cUSA men\u2019s hockey olympic roster\u201d is the top trending roster search over the last month.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerhaps the most jaw-dropping stat, however, is that searches for men\u2019s ice hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi spiked 1,925 percent over the last three months. It\u2019s possible fans were just looking to see who Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov might\u2019ve been playing alongside when they took the ice for team Canada and team Russia, respectively.<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams and co-star Connor Storrie<\/a> had their own real-life brush with the winter Olympics outside of their Heated Rivalry characters. The actors served as torchbearers<\/a> in the 2026 Olympic torch relay last month. <\/p>\n

\n\tHeated Rivalry, produced by Bell Media for Canadian streamer Crave, airs on HBO Max in the U.S. It centers on the fictional hockey universe found in Rachel Reid\u2019s Game Changers book series, focusing on two rival professional players \u2014 Canada-born Shane Hollander (Williams)<\/a> of the fictitious Montreal Metros and Russia-born Ilya Rozanov (Storrie)<\/a> of the fictitious Boston Raiders. The series follows the pair as they navigate an increasingly complicated yet deeply romantic<\/a> near-decade long secret affair.<\/p>\n

\n\tCrave renewed Heated Rivalry for a second season<\/a>, and HBO Max confirmed it will continue to air the series. Jacob Tierney \u2014 who created the series for television, serving as the sole writer and director for the show\u2019s entire first season \u2014 has\u00a0confirmed that he\u2019ll return to direct season two<\/a>. However, he told THR\u00a0ahead of\u00a0Heated Rivalry\u2019s finale that he was considering the possibility \u201cthat other writers will come in to help\u201d him out for the next season, but that he wasn\u2019t sure yet.<\/p>\n

\n\tReid has announced that she\u2019ll be publishing<\/a> her seventh book in the Game Changers series, Unrivaled. The book is slated to be the next chapter in Shane and Ilya\u2019s story.
