The Montreal Canadiens<\/a> placed forward Sammy Blais on waivers Tuesday, marking the third time this season he\u2019s been waived. <\/p>\n

Blais signed a one-year deal with Montreal on July 1. After the pre-season, he was placed on waivers and claimed on Oct. 6 by the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>. <\/p>\n

He would play eight games with the Maple Leafs, scoring one goal with two assists, before he was waived again in late November and re-claimed by the Canadiens. <\/p>\n

In 13 games with Montreal, he scored two goals with three assists. He has also skated in nine games with the AHL\u2019s Laval Rocket, where he scored three goals with nine points. <\/p>\n

Blais spent the 2024-25 season with the AHL\u2019s Abbotsford Canucks, where he scored 14 goals and 40 points in 51 regular-season games. In the playoffs, he had six goals and 19 points in 23 games as Abbotsford claimed the Calder Cup. <\/p>\n

The 29-year-old helped the St. Louis Blues<\/a> win their first Stanley Cup title in 2019. He also won gold with Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Championships. <\/p>\n

The Montmagny, Que., native has skated in 278 career NHL games, scoring 30 goals with 79 points, split between the Blues, New York Rangers<\/a>, Maple Leafs and Canadiens. <\/p>\n
