the Vancouver Canucks got to work<\/a> at finding a landing spot for their now-former captain, Quinn Hughes, with the Minnesota Wild being the club he ended up with after they offered a strong package, headlined by defenseman Zeev Buium.<\/p>\n“Like Jim, I would also like to thank Quinn for everything thing he has done in Vancouver. Quinn played hard, lead by example and did a lot of very good things for the Canucks. Trading away a player of this caliber is never easy and easy decision to make, but it was one we had to do to make our team better.” General Manager Patrik Allvin said.<\/p>\n
Quinn Hughes is already enjoying plenty of success with the Minnesota Wild, playing alongside Brock Faber on most nights, and following last night’s win over the Montreal Canadiens, the former Canuck entered the record books.<\/p>\n

According to the Minnesota Wild’s public relations account on social media, Quinn Hughes became the first player in franchise history to record three or more assists in a single game five times in one season, doing so less than two months after he was acquired by the club.<\/p>\n
“A thread of Quinn Hughes milestones reached tonight against Montreal:<\/p>\n
– Recorded a three-plus assist game for the fifth time in a #mnwild sweater, becoming the first player in franchise history to do so in a single season. He did so in 25 games.” Wild PR said.<\/p>\n
In 25 games with the Wild, Quinn Hughes has registered an impressive 32 points (three goals, 29 assists) and since arriving in Minnesota, the club as a 15-5-5 record and have climbed ahead of the Dallas Stars and into second place in the Central Division, five points back of catching the Colorado Avalanche for first.<\/p>\n
While no one knows what the future holds for Quinn Hughes in Minnesota beyond the 2026-27 season, it appears that he’s very much enjoying his time with the Wild thus far and it wouldn’t come as a shock to anyone if General Manager Bill Guerin is able to get him locked up to an extension early on in the offseason.<\/p>\n
