{"id":444550,"date":"2026-02-04T04:31:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T04:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/444550\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T04:31:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T04:31:31","slug":"bruins-korpisalo-added-to-finland-olympic-roster-lindholm-zacha-still-expected-to-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/444550\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruins&#8217; Korpisalo Added to Finland Olympic Roster; Lindholm, Zacha Still Expected To Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are now nine Boston Bruins heading to Milan for the 2026 Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leijonat.fi\/maajoukkueet\/a-maajoukkue\/2025-26\/ok2026\/luukkonen-sivuun-olympiaturnauksesta-korpisalo-tilalle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">On Tuesday morning, the Finnish national team<\/a> announced that Bruins goaltender <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/joonas-korpisalo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joonas Korpisalo<\/a> will represent Finland at the Olympics next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This season, Korpisalo has a 10-8-1 record with a 3.12 goals against average (GAA) and a .895 save percentage (SV%).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since the New Year, he has gone 4-0-1 in six appearances with an impressive 1.89 GAA and a .931 SV%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It will be his first time representing his home country at the Olympics, and his first time representing Finland at any national tournament since the 2017 World Championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jGTorHHcEKM\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Korpisalo found out on Monday<\/a>: \u201cThe head coach called me, then the rest of the team staff (did), so I got the call pretty early.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He will join <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/henri-jokiharju\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henri Jokiharju<\/a> as the Bruins\u2019 representation on the Finnish roster. Both goaltenders from the B\u2019s goalie room are now headed to the Milan Olympics (<a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jeremy-swayman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Swayman<\/a> will <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/02\/three-bruins-named-olympic-teams-friday\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">represent the USA<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Korpisalo will replace the injured <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/ukko-pekka-luukkonen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Sabres\u2019 goalie has not played since January 27, when he suffered a lower-body injury at the 12:14 mark of the first period. He has not returned to the ice, even in practice, and was placed on injured reserve Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Finland will open the Olympic tournament with a game on February 11 against Slovakia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>LINDHOLM MOVED TO IR, STILL EXPECTED FOR OLYMPICS<\/p>\n<p>On Monday afternoon, the Boston Bruins placed center <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/elias-lindholm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elias Lindholm<\/a> on the injured reserve.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lindholm was hurt last Tuesday in a home game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/27\/bruins-hang-on-beat-predators-in-overtime\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nashville Predators<\/a>. He was ruled out with <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NHLBruins\/status\/2016331547020779929?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">an upper-body injury<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/pavel-zacha\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pavel Zacha<\/a> suffered an upper-body injury on Thursday against the <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/29\/bruins-take-down-flyers-win-ninth-straight-home-game\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a>. He had a goal in 10:46 of ice time before being ruled out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/2026\/01\/30\/bruins-issue-injury-update-on-elias-lindholm-and-pavel-zacha\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Both players did not travel with the team to Florida<\/a> and missed Sunday\u2019s Stadium Series.<\/p>\n<p>Lindholm is on Sweden\u2019s roster for the Olympic Games that begin next week, while Zacha is on Czechia\u2019s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of right now, yes,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=InRoUSxWS2Y\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sturm said about Lindholm and Pavel Zacha being available for the Olympics<\/a>. \u201cBut again, they are still not here. So that\u2019s not good. That means they still have issues. But at this point, I think it\u2019s probably more up to their doctors than ours, and their decision moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The players head to Milan on February 8. Sweden opens the tournament on February 11 with a game against the host nation, Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>JORDAN HARRIS RECALLED FROM PROVIDENCE<\/p>\n<p>In a subsequent move on Monday, the Bruins announced that <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/jordan-harris\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jordan Harris<\/a> has been recalled from the Providence Bruins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By placing Lindholm on IR, the Bruins gave themselves an extra roster spot to recall Harris.<\/p>\n<p>While in Providence, Harris skated in the first four AHL games of his career. He scored once on four shots and notched two assists. His one goal was <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheAHL\/status\/2015537905335214379?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">an overtime winner<\/a> for the Providence Bruins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Sturm answered when asked if Harris would be ready to jump into the lineup. \u201cHe had a great time, great games in Providence. I only had good, really good feedback. He looks way better than, I don\u2019t know, 10 days ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris suffered an ankle injury early in the season, and he has not played since October 21.
