Huberdeau has been managing hip-related symptoms throughout the season. The decision to proceed with surgery was made in collaboration with Jonathan, his representative, our medical staff, and specialists to support his long-term well being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Huberdeau played 15:39 in Wednesday\u2019s 4-3 win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" target=\"_blank\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a>, registering one goal and three shots on net.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 32-year-old finishes the 2025-26 campaign with 10 goals and 25 points in 50 games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Saint-Jerome, Que., native was in his fourth campaign with the Flames, where he has tallied 65 goals and 129 assists for 194 points over 291 games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Huberdeau was acquired from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Panthers<\/a> as part of a package that sent forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/matthew-tkachuk\/8479314\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/matthew-tkachuk\/8479314\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Tkachuk<\/a> to the Sunshine State. The Flames also acquired defenceman Mackenzie Weegar, forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/cole-schwindt\/8481655\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/cole-schwindt\/8481655\" target=\"_blank\">Cole Schwindt<\/a> and a 2025 first-round pick, which they used to select centre Cullen Potter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He is in the third season of an eight-year, $84 million ($10.5M AAV) extension he signed with the Flames in August 2022 that is set to expire following the 2030-31 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Panthers selected Huberdeau, a two time NHL All-Star, third overall in the 2011 NHL Draft. Over his 14-year career, he has scored 263 goals and 807 points in 962 games. His best season came in 2021-22, his final year in Florida, when he scored 30 goals and finished tied for second in the NHL in points with 115. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Huberdeau was awarded the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2012-13. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Calgary Flames winger Jonathan Huberdeau will miss the rest of the season due to a hip injury.
