The men’s hockey tournament at the Olympics opens on Wednesday and runs through Feb. 22 in Milan, Italy.<\/p>\n
Rickard Rakell\u00a0and\u00a0Erik Karlsson\u00a0are the lone Penguins in action on the opening day of the tournament, as they take on Italy at 3:25 p.m. Eastern in a game that will be aired on the USA Network.<\/p>\n
Sidney Crosby\u00a0and Canada play their first game on Thursday against Czechia at 10:40 a.m. on the USA Network, and Arturs Silovs\u00a0and Latvia play a 3:10 p.m. game on Thursday against the U.S., also on the USA Network.<\/p>\n
In addition to those playing in the tournament, Kyle Dubas\u00a0is Canada’s director of player personnel and Penguins strength and conditioning coach Sean Young\u00a0is serving in the same capacity for Canada. Penguins video coach Madison Nikkel\u00a0is the U.S. video coach.<\/p>\n
There’s plenty of former Penguins to watch in the tournament, too — Jake Guentzel\u00a0and coach Mike Sullivan\u00a0with the U.S., Olli Maatta\u00a0and Mikael Granlund\u00a0on Finland, Jan Rutta\u00a0on Czechia, Teddy Blueger\u00a0on Latvia, Lars Eller\u00a0on Denmark and Dominik Kahun\u00a0on Germany. Additionally, former Penguins forward prospect Frederik Tiffels\u00a0is playing for Germany, former goaltending prospect Filip Gustavsson\u00a0is on Sweden, former Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Penguin (and Robert Morris alum) Justin Addamo\u00a0is on France, and former Nailer Renars Krastenbergs\u00a0is on Latvia.<\/p>\n
