<\/p>\nFor the first time in 12 years, the NHL returns to the Olympic stage, co-hosted by Italian cities Milan and Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo. The Carolina Hurricanes will have five players competing for gold across four of the 12 different nations. The men\u2019s ice hockey tournament will feature 30 games and will begin February 11th, with the championship game scheduled for February 22nd.<\/p>\n

Team USA<\/p>\n
After he put on a show in the Four Nations Faceoff tournament last February, Jaccob Slavin will represent the United States of America once again as he takes the ice in Italy. During the Four Nations, Slavin operated on the top defensive line, paired with Brock Faber, and was a +3 in plus\/minus throughout four games \u2013 demonstrating his elite defensive prowess.<\/p>\n
Team Finland<\/p>\n
Sebastian Aho will represent Finland, who currently reigns as the Olympic Champion. In the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Finland narrowly beat out the Russian Olympic Committee in the gold medal match. Ironically, the Russian team that they defeated had current Hurricanes defenseman Alexander Nikishin on the roster.<\/p>\n
During the Four Nations, Aho scored two assists for two total points and was assessed two penalty minutes in three games played.<\/p>\n
Additionally, joining Aho will be former Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen, who spent over 500 games with the organization.<\/p>\n
Team Denmark<\/p>\n
Denmark will get a helping hand (and a helping glove) from the Hurricanes\u2019 two \u2018Great Danes\u2019, Nikolaj Ehlers and Frederik Andersen. In the Olympic Qualification games held in 2024, Nikolaj Ehlers posted one goal and three assists in four games, while Andersen registered a save percentage of .938 and a goals against average of 1.31 across a 3-0-0 record.<\/p>\n
Team Canada<\/p>\n
Initially snubbed from the Team Canada roster but left on the reserve, Seth Jarvis was selected one day before the NHL Olympic break to fill the skates of Brayden Point, who would miss the games due to injury. In the Four Nations, Jarvis notched one assist and played three games.<\/p>\n
