Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha will not play for Team Czechia in the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 due to an injury.<\/p>\n

Zacha has not played since Jan. 29 due to an upper-body injury. However, after he sustained the injury, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm didn\u2019t think the injury would impact Zacha\u2019s ability to play in the Olympics.<\/p>\n

After Boston\u2019s final game before the break, Sturm even said it would be up to Czechia\u2019s medical staff to determine if Zacha could play.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut again, they\u2019re still not here, so that\u2019s not good,\u201d Sturm\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0after practice on Tuesday about Zacha and (Elias) Lindholm. \u201cThat means they still have issues, but at this point I think it\u2019s probably more up to (the national team) doctors than ours and their decision moving forward, hopefully both will be okay to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zacha has skated in 54 games, recording 15 goals and 22 assists, and was expected to be a key figure for Czechia in the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Replacing Zacha is Filip Chlapik, who plays in the Ottawa Senators organization.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Despite Zacha not playing, Boston still has several players competing in the Olympics: Joonas Korpisalo\u00a0(Finland),\u00a0Elias Lindholm\u00a0(Sweden),\u00a0\u00a0Hampus Lindholm\u00a0(Sweden), Jeremy Swayman (USA),\u00a0Charlie McAvoy\u00a0(USA), Henri Jokiharju (Finland), and prospect\u00a0Dans Locmelis\u00a0(Latvia).<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s Olympic hockey tournament is set to begin on Feb. 11.\u00a0<\/p>\n
