David Pagnotta just dropped an intriguing piece of news that is sure to spark plenty of trade rumors.<\/p>\n

Simply put, this is the fourth time the St. Louis winger\u2019s name has surfaced around the Canadiens.<\/p>\n

With the progression of Oliver Kapanen, the Habs would now be looking for a top-line winger to complement Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be honest, Kyrou is a pure talent, even if he\u2019s currently going through his worst statistical stretch in quite some time. He has 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 47 NHL games this season.<\/p>\n

That said, his $8.125 million cap hit per year through 2031 is a massive commitment to swallow.<\/p>\n

The forward has a full no-movement clause, but he has reportedly already indicated that he would be willing to waive it to come to Montreal.<\/p>\n

A trade price that raises eyebrows<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s admit it, Doug Armstrong won\u2019t give up his 27-year-old winger for peanuts. We\u2019re talking about a price tag of three to four assets, potentially including a high-quality young defenseman as the centerpiece of the deal.<\/p>\n

In St. Louis, a rebuild appears to be getting underway, and Kyrou currently carries a -7 rating this season. Despite his struggles, he remains a constant threat on controlled zone entries thanks to his excellent speed.<\/p>\n

Now it remains to be seen whether Kent Hughes will dare to pull the trigger on a trade before the deadline. Offensive production of that caliber doesn\u2019t grow on trees, especially for a winger capable of reaching the 30-goal mark.<\/p>\n
