The New York Rangers could be forced into an ultimatum involving former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller as they sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n
“I don’t know. We need to come back with a better mindset. It hasn’t been good enough the last little while, so just try to regroup and freshen up. I don’t know. We just need to enjoy or take time – I literally don’t know. Come back with a better mindset I guess.” Miller said.<\/p>\n

Being a captain in the National Hockey League comes with a lot of responsibility, J.T. Miller knows that and he wouldn’t have accepted the ‘C’ before the season if he didn’t want that expanded role.<\/p>\n
However, his post-game interviews all season long have cause a lot of frustration and according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, at some point in the near future Miller and Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan need to sit down and work with each other to ensure they’re on the same page with their messaging and if things aren’t able to get better, then perhaps a change will be needed.<\/p>\n
“Mike Sullivan and J.T. Miller are on a business trip to Italy. Gold is the goal and nothing can get in the way. But, at some point, they need to sit down and discuss some Rangers. I understand that losing sucks and Miller doesn’t want to pour gasoline on the fire with his post-game commentary. But there has to be a better way than how he’s answering questions right now. It’s only inflaming tensions. Sullivan clearly is just as frustrated, feeling his message is not getting through. He’s the coach and Miller is the captain. They have to work with each other to make it better. Or the Rangers are going to have to change something there, too.” Friedman said about J.T. Miller and Mike Sullivan heading into the Olympic break<\/a>.<\/p>\n The two sides need to come together and figure things out, not just for the rest of this season but for many years to come as J.T. Miller isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, with the East Palestine, Ohio native locked up for four more years following the 2025-26 campaign with a cap hit of $8 million USD.<\/p>\n New York is hoping that this season is a fluke and that they can retool quickly in hopes of returning to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with J.T.
