{"id":453441,"date":"2026-02-10T17:25:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T17:25:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/453441\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T17:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T17:25:13","slug":"james-hagens-bruins-prospects-shine-in-boston-colleges-beanpot-win-nbc-sports-boston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/453441\/","title":{"rendered":"James Hagens, Bruins prospects shine in Boston College\u2019s Beanpot win \u2013 NBC Sports Boston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Boston Bruins are on a break as NHL players prepare to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsboston.com\/nhl\/boston-bruins\/winter-olympics-2026-ice-hockey-schedule-rosters\/765729\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsboston.com\/nhl\/boston-bruins\/winter-olympics-2026-ice-hockey-schedule-rosters\/765729\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">compete for the gold medal<\/a> at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.<\/p>\n<p>But the college hockey season is ongoing, and some of the Bruins&#8217; top prospects shined bright for Boston College during its Beanpot triumph.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles won the Beanpot for the first time since 2016 after defeating rival Boston University 6-2 at TD Garden on Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>The Bruins&#8217; top prospect and 2025 No. 7 overall draft pick James Hagens tallied five points in the tournament, including a pair of assists Monday. He was named MVP of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Letourneau, who the B&#8217;s selected at No. 24 overall in the 2024 draft, scored in the third period Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Andre Gasseau, who was a seventh-round pick of the Bruins in 2021, had four points in the tournament and scored two power-play goals in the title game. One of those goals got the Eagles on the board in the first period. <\/p>\n<p>Hagens leads BC with 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 24 games. <\/p>\n<p>Letourneau is second with 28 points in 26 games. He did not score a single goal in 36 games last year but already has 16 this season.
