A former Vancouver Canucks goaltender has had his contract terminated overseas in Europe after making the trip across the Atlantic for the first time in his professional hockey career.<\/p>\n

“My family and I are incredibly happy to have this opportunity to represent such a prestigious club as Bryn\u00e4s IF. The passionate supporters combined with the proud history that the club possesses made our decision easy.<\/p>\n

I am looking forward to the season and I want to contribute to us going all the way and winning Swedish Championship gold.” Delia said after signing for Brynas IF.<\/p>\n

Delia was looking forward to playing a big role for Brynas IF, however that hasn’t happened and now the former Vancouver Canucks goaltender has decided now is the time to explore his options elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Collin Delia has contract terminated in SHL<\/p>\n

“Collin has had little playing time for a long period and has expressed a desire to move on. Despite limited playing time, he has always behaved professionally and shown a high degree of loyalty to both the club and his teammates. We wish him the best of luck.” Brynas IF Sports Director Johan Alcen said.<\/p>\n

Since arriving at the club, Delia has only appeared in six Swedish Hockey League games for them, where he had a 1-4-0 record along with a 3.87 goals against average and a .790 save percentage.<\/p>\n

The Rancho Cucamonga, California native also made seven appearances for the club in the Champions Hockey League where he was actually quite impressive, sporting a 1.87 goals against average and a .914 save percentage, leading Brynas IF to the semifinals where they lost to Frolunda HC.<\/p>\n

While it’s quite likely that Delia will find a new club in Europe for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign, a return to North America for 2026-27 can’t be ruled out at this point, potentially in the AHL where he spent the majority of the previous two seasons with the Manitoba Moose and the Bakersfield Condors.<\/p>\n
