The New Jersey Devils\u2019 management decided Wednesday to place forward Marc McLaughlin on waivers.<\/p>\n

The move aims to assign the 26-year-old to their AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens, who currently hold a 32-17-8 record, could technically show interest in stabilizing their depth. Kent Hughes is closely monitoring the market to find low-risk options ahead of the trade deadline.<\/p>\n

“New Jersey has placed forward Marc McLaughlin on waivers, with the intention of activating him and assigning him to Utica of the American Hockey Leauge.”<\/p>\n

McLaughlin is currently in the final year of a one-season contract worth $775,000. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current campaign, which would make a potential acquisition easier without long-term commitment.<\/p>\n
