It didn\u2019t take long for a former Los Angeles Kings forward to find a buyer for his Manhattan Beach <\/a>home.<\/p>\n

The pending sale of Phillip Danault and his wife Marie-Pierre Fortin\u2019s home at 620 12th Street in the South Bay city<\/a> came in a matter of days. The property, which is listed for $8.5 million, hit the market on Feb. 4 and went into contract Feb. 6, according to listing sites. The home was one of last week\u2019s top residences to go into contract, based on asking price, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The weekly roundup, compiled by Marcy Roth of Douglas Elliman\u2019s Eklund Gomes team, counts Los Angeles County properties listed for $4 million or more in the Multiple Listing Service.<\/p>\n

Property records show Danault and Fortin bought the home in 2022 for just under $6 million and lived there while Danault played for the Kings. He left the team last year and made a return to the Montreal Canadiens, where he played between 2016 and 2021.<\/p>\n

The asking price on the South Bay home, located in the American Martyrs district of Manhattan Beach<\/a>\u2019s Tree Section, pencils out to $1,971 per square foot. The roughly 10-block American Martyrs area gets its name from its proximity to the American Martyrs Church and School and is known for sizable lots, including some with ocean views.<\/p>\n

Vista Sotheby\u2019s International Realty\u2019s June Emerson holds the listing.<\/p>\n

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home spans 4,312 square feet. It touts ocean views, a wine cellar, elevator, Tesla charger and parking for five vehicles.<\/p>\n

While the Manhattan Beach<\/a> property is headed for what could be a fast closing, it didn\u2019t top last week\u2019s list of homes to go into contract.<\/p>\n

That designation went to 722 North Camden Drive in the Beverly Hills Flats. The seven-bed, 10-bath home is listed for $21 million, or $1,835 per square foot.<\/p>\n

Property records indicate Vandad Zarrin and Nahid Chapchian are the owners. Zarrin owns VZ Construction Co., which built the Mediterranean-inspired home last year.<\/p>\n

Revel Real Estate\u2019s Ben Bacal holds the listing.<\/p>\n

The home sits on an expansive lot of more than 15,000 square feet. Highlights of the home include a nearly 2,000-square-foot primary suite with its own sitting room and balcony. There\u2019s also a driveway made with Italian marble and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Prospective buyers also had the option of buying the home\u2019s Restoration Hardware furnishings.<\/p>\n

The Flats property was one of 19 homes to go into contract last week, according to the Eklund Gomes<\/a> report. That was good for $114.9 million in asking volume, which was off about 35 percent from the year-ago period.<\/p>\n
