REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The Americans, on the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/09\/sports\/us-mens-hockey-team-all-in-on-olympic-village-experience\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">are sticking with tradition<\/a> and sleeping alongside the thousands of other Olympic athletes Milano Cortina, Italy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had some great times hanging out with the rest of the athletes, playing cards, watching the other Olympians,\u201d Matthew Tkachuk said. \u201cIt\u2019s been just an unbelievable experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While much has been made of the Canadians\u2019 hotel move, the team\u2019s general manager Doug Armstrong downplayed its significance, noting that the players stayed elsewhere during the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver and in 2014 in Sochi.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.47976879;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38461735\" width=\"873\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GettyImages-2260053799.jpg\" alt=\"The Canadian team village for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, with snow-covered mountains and trees in the background.\" class=\"wp-image-38461735\"  \/>A view of the residential unit of Team Canada in the Athletes\u2019 Village on February 05, 2026 in Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo, Italy. They have a room in the village, they have a room provided by the NHL and NHLPA outside there,\u201d Armstrong said, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MollieeWalkerr\/status\/2021583076497740161\" rel=\"nofollow\">according to The Post\u2019s Mollie Walker<\/a>. \u201cI think this has sort of grown a life of its own. This is no different than the tournaments we had before.
