Seth Jarvis of the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> saw his Olympic debut at the\u00a0Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, logging 13 shifts across 9:19 TOI in Team Canada’s second game of the tournament against Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The Canadians won, 5-1; Sidney Crosby and Macklin Celebrini each scored, along with Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon and Thomas Harley. McDavid and MacKinnon also each posted two assists for a total of three points. Jarvis was previously one of the\u00a0healthy scratches for Team Canada\u2019s opener against Czechia.<\/p>\n

Jarvis was scratched at the time alongside\u00a0Travis Sanheim and Darcy Kuemper<\/p>\n

This latest news surrounding Jarvis comes after he was revealed to have been the next man up for Team Canada, as he has replaced Brayden Point on the roster. Point became unavailable to play due to an\u00a0undisclosed injury.<\/p>\n

Seth Jarvis makes Olympic debut in win over Switzerland<\/p>\n

Team Canada defeated Czechia in a 5-0 shutout win in the Canadians’ opening game of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Pius Suter had the lone goal for the Swiss over Canada on Feb. 13.<\/p>\n

Jarvis previously helped Canada to win gold at the 4 Nations Face-Off last season and currently has 43 points across 25 goals and 18 assists on the league season so far.\u00a0Jarvis was originally considered a noteworthy name left off the original Team Canada roster.\u00a0He was one of the last forwards cut when the original 25-man roster was selected in late December.<\/p>\n

Jarvis, who is 24, was the youngest member of Canada\u2019s 4 Nations team and finished that event with one assist in three games.<\/p>\n

The right-shot winger earned the Team Canada nod over a list of other potential replacement players that include Wyatt Johnston, Mark Scheifele, Zach Hyman, youngster Connor Bedard and Morgan Geekie.<\/p>\n

Team Canada continues their play in Group A on Feb. 15 against France.<\/p>\n
