A Detroit Red Wings prospect finally returned to the ice after a long-term injury and immediately had an impact on his team.<\/p>\n

This year, Wings fans got to see multiple talented players play their rookie seasons in Detroit, such as Axel Sandin-Pellikka, Emmitt Finnie, and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard.<\/p>\n

However, with Detroit’s filled prospect pool, many more could make their way within the organization after the season.<\/p>\n

One of them just returned to action following a long-term injury.<\/p>\n

Red Wings Prospect Scores a Goal on First Shift Back From Long-Term Injury<\/p>\n

He finally returned to the lineup on Thursday and scored a goal on his first shift of the game.<\/p>\n

This was his 21st point in his 31st game.<\/p>\n

“Honestly, I didn’t believe it was possible (smiles) \u2013 right on the first shift, the first goal. Of course, it was a joy to share that moment with the guys. It gave us a little boost right away.”<\/p>\n

That boost ended up being the game-winning goal for CSKA, who beat Spartak 2\u20130.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old forward’s contract expires at the end of the season. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him in Detroit or Grand Rapids in the upcoming months.<\/p>\n

With Max Plante and Carter Bear, Buchelnikov is definitely considered one of the most interesting Wings prospects not currently developing in the AHL or NHL.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, he’ll be able to remain healthy for the next part of his development.<\/p>\n
