\"Kevin<\/a>The Los Angeles Kings<\/a> chose to go for it when they executed the deal to acquire Artemi Panarin and ink him to a new contract. Unfortunately, now Kevin Fiala seems to have suffered an injury that will keep him out a while, but that shouldn’t stop the Kings from continuing forward and trying to get into the playoffs and win some rounds.<\/p>\n

David Pagnotta reminded us, “(The Kings) still have that second-round pick they got from the Habs for Phillip Danault. They basically told everybody they’re willing to move that if they can fix another hole in their roster.”<\/p>\n

The Kings have plenty of cap space to work with now and could not only use a center to help this season and moving forward, but now a rental winger. There have been too many that seem to have taken the season off with Warren Foegele, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Trevor Moore all having tough years.<\/p>\n

Having a couple of injured players back and even testing out someone else from the AHL will help, but external help is needed. A second-round pick alone or paired with something else can go pretty far for the Kings. Kiefer Sherwood got the Vancouver Canucks two second-round picks, Bobby McMann will go for around the same, and there will be plenty of good options and players more forgotten about whose value will drop.<\/p>\n

With the cap space the Kings have for the remainder of the season and will have with Anze Kopitar calling it a career after the season, multiple additions are in order if Ken Holland is serious about giving the team a chance. There’s nearly $11 million in cap space to work with and the Kings have nine draft picks this season, holding that extra second-round pick and an extra sixth-round pick. They also have their first two round picks for the following two years and have 12 of their next 14 draft picks in 2027 and 2028.<\/p>\n

The Kings can do a lot and there’s no reason not to continue to add now.<\/p>\n
