The hypothetical move would give the Los Angeles Kings an additional $3.5 million in cap space to work with as they go all-in for Anze Kopitar’s final season in the National Hockey League, while for the Vancouver Canucks, it would give them a player who could be of use to them beyond this season and potentially even flip ahead of the 2026-27 trade deadline in 12 months.<\/p>\n
“When looking at the Canucks\u2019 current forward group, Foegele would slot nicely in their top nine. In addition, due to his solid two-way play, he would give the Canucks another option for both their power play and penalty kill if acquired.” DeRosa said about Foegele’s potential fit with the Vancouver Canucks.<\/p>\n
Foegele, a native of Markham, Ontario, is currently in his ninth season in the National Hockey League, but has struggled in a big way for the Kings and could be in need of a fresh start.<\/p>\n
After back-to-back 20-goal seasons, the 29-year-old has registered just six goals and eight points, along with 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-five in 43 games for Los Angeles, but with a fresh start and a bigger opportunity, which he would certainly get in Vancouver if they sell off players as expected at the deadline, he could have the chance to drive up those numbers a bit.<\/p>\n
