Four of six Ottawa Senators competing<\/a> at the 2026 Winter Olympics were on the ice for Day 5 of the men\u2019s hockey tournament.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how each of them fared.<\/p>\n

Tim Stutzle (Germany)<\/p>\n

The list of players with four goals at these Winter Olympics is rather short.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s Tim Stutzle<\/a> and then there\u2019s Macklin Celebrini. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

In the third period of a 5-1 loss to the United States on Sunday, Stutzle calmly avoided a diving Noah Hanifin in the slot and beat Connor Hellebuyck with a wrist shot over the glove to extend his Olympic goal streak to three games.<\/p>\n

Sunday was less enjoyable for Stutzle and Team Germany than previous matches, though.<\/p>\n

Stutzle\u2019s giveaway on a breakout late in the first period ultimately led to Zach Werenski\u2019s opening goal, a backbreaker nine seconds before the intermission.<\/p>\n

During a TV timeout late in the second, Stutzle looked to be getting checked out by a team trainer on the sidelines. It\u2019s unclear what was ailing him, but he played the rest of the game with seemingly no problems.<\/p>\n

Stutzle had one goal, three shots and a minus-1 rating in 21:02 of ice time against Team USA.<\/p>\n

Germany finished the preliminary round with a record of 1-0-2-0 (W-OTW-L-OTL), securing second place in Group C.<\/p>\n

Jake Sanderson (USA)<\/p>\n

Jake Sanderson had two assists<\/a> in Team USA\u2019s third straight win of the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Sanderson pinched to keep the play alive in the German end, and eventually got the secondary assist on Tage Thompson\u2019s 4-0 goal. The Sens defenceman later found Auston Matthews parked at the edge of the crease with a hard pass for a redirection to make it 5-0.<\/p>\n

Sanderson had one shot and was plus-2 in 10:40 of ice time.<\/p>\n

Brady Tkachuk (USA)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a shame that no stats are being kept on hits at the Olympics because Brady Tkachuk<\/a> might\u2019ve set an all-time record.<\/p>\n

He threw a massive check on Parker Tuomie in the first period, hounded Leon Draisaitl all game and absolutely ran over Kai Wissman at the Team USA blueline in the third.<\/p>\n

Tkachuk was receiving constant scoldings from the referees after whistles \u2014 just the way he likes it.<\/p>\n

The Senators captain had the secondary assist on Brock Faber\u2019s 3-0 goal, a weak wrister brutally botched by German netminder Maximilian Franzreb, and finished the game with two shots and a plus-1 rating in 14:12 of ice time.<\/p>\n

Tkachuk had two goals and an assist in three round-robin games.<\/p>\n

The United States finished the preliminary round with an undefeated record of 3-0-0-0 to win Group C, and will move onto the medal round as the No. 2 seed behind Canada.<\/p>\n

Lars Eller (Denmark)<\/p>\n

Lars Eller assisted on the 4-2 empty-net goal to help Denmark clinch a win over Latvia on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Eller had one shot and a plus-1 rating in 17:29 of ice time in the victory.<\/p>\n

He took a hooking penalty in the second that the Danes successfully killed off.<\/p>\n

Mads Sogaard (Denmark)<\/p>\n

After sustaining what looked to be a lower-body injury in a 6-3 loss to Team USA on Saturday, Mads Sogaard watched in street clothes as his fellow countrymen defeated Latvia on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old told TSN\u2019s Mark Masters<\/a> that he \u201cextended out on a shot in the second period (Saturday) and just felt a little something, and as the game went on it got progressively worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear whether Sogaard will be available to dress during the medal round, but regardless, it is Frederik Andersen\u2019s crease from here on out.<\/p>\n

Denmark finished the preliminary round with a record of 1-0-2-0, securing third place in Group C.<\/p>\n

Denmark vs. Czechia playoff \u2014 Tuesday, Feb. 17, time TBA<\/p>\n

Nikolas Matinpalo (Finland)<\/p>\n

Nikolas Matinpalo did not play<\/a> on Sunday, as Team Finland wrapped up round-robin play on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Sens defenceman has one goal, four shots and a plus-2 rating in two games. Matinpalo is battling with Henri Jokiharju and Mikko Lehtonen for the final two spots in the Finns\u2019 D corps for the medal round.<\/p>\n

Finland finished the preliminary round with a record of 2-0-1-0, securing second place in Group B.<\/p>\n
