After Team USA lost a lead late in regulation, Quinn Hughes\u2019 overtime goal sent the Americans to the semifinals of the Olympic men\u2019s hockey team.<\/p>\n

Because the the field reseeds after each round, top seed Canada,<\/a> which beat Czechia<\/a> in overtime, will now face No. 4 Finland at 10:40 a.m..<\/p>\n

The No. 2 Americans will take on No. 3 Slovakia, which has been the surprise of the tournament at 3:10 p.m.<\/p>\n

The winners of those two will play for the gold medal on Sunday at 8:10 a.m. The losers will place for the bronze on Saturday at 2:40 p.m.<\/p>\n

Canada avoided what would have been a stunning quarterfinal exit in men\u2019s hockey by rallying to beat Czechia 4-3 in overtime<\/a>. Nick Suzuki tied it on a deflection with 3:27 left and Mitch Marner scored in OT.<\/p>\n

The United States also needed overtime before eventually topping Sweden 2-1. Quinn Hughes scored in OT to give the U.S. the win after giving up the tying goal to Mika Zibanejad with 91 seconds left in the third period.<\/p>\n

Dylan Larkin deflected in Jack Hughes\u2019 shot for the only U.S. goal in regulation.<\/p>\n

Canada stayed in the tournament but has a major concern after losing Sidney Crosby to injury<\/a> five minutes into the second period. Crosby\u2019s right leg appeared to buckle bracing for contact from rugged Czechia defenseman Radko Gudas.<\/p>\n

In the other quarterfinal matches, Finland also won in overtime, 3-2 against Switzerland, while Slovakia beat Germany 6-2.<\/p>\n
