Detroit Red Wings linemates Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond made key plays for their respective teams in regulation Wednesday before Quinn Hughes scored at 3:27 of overtime to lift the United States past Sweden 2-1 in an Olympic quarterfinal matchup in Milan, Italy.<\/p>\n
The second-seeded U.S. (4-0) will face third-seeded Slovakia (3-1) in the semifinals on Friday. Canada plays Finland in the other semifinal on Friday.<\/p>\n
Hughes (Michigan and Minnesota Wild) scored on a shot from the slot that went off the post and in during the three-on-three OT.<\/p>\n
Larkin scored on a net-front tip-in at 11:03 of the second period to put the U.S. ahead 1-0. He deflected in a shot by Jack Hughes. Quinn Hughes also assisted.<\/p>\n
Raymond made a brilliant pass to set up Mika Zibanejad\u2019s goal on a one-timer that tied it with 1:31 remaining in the third period. Sweden had pulled goaltender Jacob Markstrom for the extra skater.<\/p>\n
Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves for the U.S.<\/p>\n
