Seven Bruins<\/a> remained at the Olympics entering Wednesday\u2019s slate of games; four are moving on to the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Only one made it to the scoresheet, and one skated in his first Olympic minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Czechia forward<\/a> Martin Necas<\/a> (COL<\/a>) said, \u201cWe let them win the first one because we knew we were not going to win two in a row against Canada.\u201d Unfortunately for Necas and Team Czechia, they fell in the quarterfinal, but not without a fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Czechia went down 1-0 early, and then Lukas Sedlak<\/a> tied the game. Six minutes later, and on the power play, Roman \u010cervenka<\/a> played the puck to Filip Hronek<\/a> (VAN), who set up the Bruins\u2019 David Pastrnak<\/a> for a one-timer from the left circle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

For Pastrnak, it was his second goal and fifth point of the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Canada erased the Czech lead and did it again after Ondrej Palat<\/a> (NYI) scored in the third period. Mitchell Marner<\/a> (VGK<\/a>) scored the overtime winner with a backhand, which ended the tournament for Pastrnak and Czechia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FOUR BRUINS ADVANCING TO SEMIFINALS<\/p>\n

In the day\u2019s third game, Switzerland carried a 2-0 lead through the first two intermissions. Late in the third period, Sebastian Aho<\/a> (CAR<\/a>) and Artturi Lehkonen<\/a> (COL<\/a>) scored for Finland to tie the game and force overtime.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lehkonen scored again for the Finns to complete the comeback and end Switzerland\u2019s tournament run.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Henri Jokiharju<\/a> (6:49 TOI), Joonas Korpisalo<\/a> (backup), and Team Finland will play Canada on Friday at 10:40 AM.<\/p>\n

And at long last, Hampus Lindholm<\/a> made it to the ice for Team Sweden. Victor Hedman<\/a> (TBL) suffered a pregame injury that altered Sweden\u2019s defense plans. They have had multiple games where they deploy only six defensemen, although due to international rules, they dress seven.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hampus Lindholm logged 15:48 of ice time, took a penalty<\/a>, and had two shots. Elias Lindholm<\/a> had one shot on goal and was a minus-1 in 9:53 of ice time; he did not play a shift beyond the second period.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The United States, thanks to a Quinn Hughes<\/a> (MIN) overtime winner, knocked off the Swedes 2-1, and ended the tournament for both of the Lindholms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Charlie McAvoy<\/a> skated in 27 shifts, totaling 19:22 of ice time. He was on the ice for both the USA\u2019s first goal and Sweden\u2019s tying goal. Jeremy Swayman<\/a> did not dress.<\/p>\n

McAvoy, Swayman, and Team USA will play on Friday at 3:10 PM.<\/p>\n

With Pastrnak and the Lindholms eliminated, the Bruins remain with four players competing for gold.\u00a0<\/p>\n
